Team USA will face Canada in this week's 4 Nations Face Off Final, creating a rematch of the most recent intense game between the two North American countries.
During the last match, multiple battles broke out in seconds.
The round-robin portion of the tournament brought an injury retreat for the Americans, with Brady Tokachuk escaped in the second term after a crease collision with Sweden's Samuel Arson.

Meanwhile, Auston Matthews and Charlie McAvoy were scars in the lineup. McAvoy was taken to hospital with what he called an “upper body injury,” the Boston Bruins, a defenseman NHL club, announced Tuesday.

McAvoy is dealing with an infection that may have been caused by injuries, according to reports from the daily showdown. He is under the supervision of one of the Bruins doctors, the team said.

He was not on the ice on Monday. Team USA coach Mike Sullivan said at the time the defenders were fighting “upper body injuries.”

McAvoy was an active part of the Americans' game plan leading up to his injury. He was on the ice for just under 20 minutes when Team USA won in Finland on February 13th.

“Upper body injury” appeared to prevent McAvoy from stealing ice in several games leading up to the tournament. However, he played in the Bruin match on January 30th. The 27-year-old underwent arthroscopic stabilization surgery on the shoulder in 2022, NBC reported.
Team USA is scheduled to face Canada in the 4 Nations showdown final on February 20th.
