It's been a tough season for the San Francisco 49ers, and with it comes the worst period for Brock Purdy as a starter.
Granted, Purdy didn't benefit from injury issues throughout the offense, especially Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk, but Purdy's numbers in 2024 were worse than last season.
He threw for about 400 yards less than he did in 2023, his touchdowns went up from 31 to 20, and he had 12 more interceptions (12). QB ratings dropped from 107.3 and 113.0 to 96.1.

But after missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2020 season, general manager John Lynch has no intention of letting Purdy go.
“What we know about Brock is he's our guy. We're interested in Brock being here for a long time,” Lynch told reporters Wednesday. “He's contributed a lot to our organization. He's won big games and, like we all have this year, we've had some things happen throughout the year, so it's a little bit of a difficult job. We never were able to connect the game where we were.'' And through it all, he continued to lead and continue to play at a high level, so we have every interest in him. . ”

Purdy is eligible for a significant contract extension – as the final pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, he made less than $1 million in base salary last season. According to Spotrac, his market value is $59.7 million per year, which would be the highest in the league, so we could see a dramatic increase.
According to the site, he could sign a four-year deal worth nearly $239 million, which would make him more expensive than Kyler Murray, Deshaun Watson, Tua Tagovailoa, Jordan Love, and Jared Goff. That's what it means.

If he signs such a contract, he would be the 14th QB in NFL history to top $200 million, with each of his previous contracts starting in 2020.
