The accused accomplice in a billion-dollar drug ring allegedly led by former Canadian Olympic snowboarder Ryan Wedding has been brought to the US from Mexico to face federal accusations, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Friday in a release provided to Fox News Digital.
Andrew Clark, 34, a Canadian resident who lives in Mexico, was arrested by Mexican authorities in October 2024 and is scheduled to be arrested Monday in US District Court in Arizona.
“The defendant played a key role in running a violent international drug trafficking organisation responsible for multiple murders, as stated in the modest indictment,” Attorney Joseph T. McNally said in a statement Friday.
“We are grateful that he is in the United States where he faces justice. When law enforcement officers from all over the world work together, criminals cannot hide.”

The wedding, who competed in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Canada, faces drug trafficking charges in Canada dating back to 2015, said Chris Leather, Royal Mount Police Chief of Canada.
Federal records show that the wedding was previously convicted in the US for conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
According to the modest indictment, the wedding and Clark allegedly oversaw the murder of two individuals and the attempted murder of the third victim in Ontario, Canada in November 2023.
Clark and another co-defendant were charged with the murder of a fifth individual in Ontario, Canada in April 2024.

From March 2024 to August 2024, the wedding and Clark allegedly conspired with others to distribute more than 1,800 kilograms of cocaine. The Wedding, Clark and their co-conspirators are also said to have moved about $500 million between April 2024 and September 2024. Investigators seized more than $3 million from one cryptocurrency wallet in a day.
Clark is the second appointed defendant in a modest indictment, accusing a total of 16 defendants. Clark's expected court appearance would have led to a total of eight defendants being arrested in this case. The alleged trial of Clark's conspirators is scheduled to begin on May 6th.
