A plaque commemorating Aaron Judge's historic 62nd home run of the 2022 season at Globe Life Field in Texas has been stolen for a second time and will not be installed again, according to WFAN reporter Justin Shakir.
Judge famously broke the American League single-season home run record in the penultimate game of the 2022 season against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field. Judge's home run came in the bottom of the first inning of the nightcap of a doubleheader on the second-to-last day of the season. The ball, which broke the record set by former Yankee Roger Maris in 1961, flew deep into right field and was caught by 35-year-old Corey Youmans, who was sitting in section 31, row 1, seat 3.
That's where the memorial was erected both times, but now there's just cement where the memorial once stood.

Shakil said the Rangers will not be installing a third plaque.
This isn't the first time memorabilia commemorating Yankees moments has been stolen: In 2014, several of Yankees legend Yogi Berra's World Series rings and two MVP plaques were stolen from the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center in Little Falls, New Jersey.

Judge and the Yankees return to Globe Life Field on Monday for a three-game series against the Rangers, with Judge coming into the series looking to challenge the home run record in 2022. Judge currently has 51 homers with 25 games remaining this season.

At this point in 2022, Judge had already hit 55 home runs, but after an unusually slow start for the Yankees captain, he has been hitting home runs at a better pace since the end of April than he did all year.

Still, if Judge can hit 60 home runs this year, he'll become just the third player to do so multiple times, joining Sammy Sosa (three times) and Mark McGwire (twice).
Only two players in baseball history have matched or surpassed Judge's slash line total this season and also hit 50 or more home runs, both of whom came before the MLB integration: Babe Ruth did it three times, and right-hander Jimmie Foxx did it once in 1932 with the Philadelphia Athletics.
