All is well in the Meadowlands.
Fans on social media picked up on some tension between New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and head coach Robert Saleh after the four-time league MVP appeared to refuse a hug from the coach on the sidelines during the first half of Thursday night's game against the New England Patriots.

While some speculated the refusal was due to Rodgers' competitive nature and unwillingness to celebrate despite leading 14-0, the two clarified the exchange in their post-game press conference.

“One of the things we've talked about is giving our defense a two-goal lead,” Saleh told reporters with a smile.
“We were up by two and I think he wanted to show us something defensively. He reminded me that we were up by two.”
Rodgers' point seemed to fit, telling the media that he wanted to emphasize to Saleh that they accomplished what they set out to do in the Jets' long-awaited home opener.

“Oh, was it awkward? No, it wasn't awkward at all,” Rogers said, laughing about the exchange.
“He's not a hugger, so I didn't know he was going to hug me. He likes having his hands pressed against his chest. But he talks a lot about being up by two runs. So I gave him a little push and said, 'Up by two runs,' and that was it.”
The Jets performed well against their AFC East rivals in a short week.

The Jets returned to New York after beating the Tennessee Titans on the road on Sunday, and all eyes were on Rodgers, playing his first game at MetLife Stadium since suffering a season-ending Achilles injury just four plays into his debut last season.
The 40-year-old Rodgers threw touchdown passes to Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard and completed 27 of 35 attempts for 281 yards as the Jets beat the Patriots 24-3 to end an eight-game home losing streak against New England.
The Jets will have a short break as they prepare to host the Denver Broncos on Sept. 29.
