The world of football was enveloped as Shedeur Sanders are set to move on to day three of the 2025 NFL Draft, but ESPN's Adam Schefter has removed news from other quarterbacks that are very important to certain MVP free agents.
Aaron Rodgers will remain without a team for the 2025 season.
One of these potential teams was the Minnesota Vikings, considering that the team's first round pick in 2024, JJ McCarthy, did not touch the field last season due to a season-ending injury. But the front office has asserted that McCarthy is the guy at work headed for this season, but speculation about a potential Rogers deal has been floating.

Perhaps it was officially over after Schefter revealed during the broadcast of the ESPN draft that the Vikings had acquired Sam Howell from the Seattle Seahawks. Howell later confirmed the deal and posted a congratulatory post on Instagram.

Minnesota sent out his 142nd pick in the fifth round in return for Howell. After two picks, Sanders was finally taken to the Cleveland Browns.
So, where will that leave Rogers in 2025?
The Pittsburgh Steelers remained the forefront of his service, and their draft mindset seemed to indicate that he still believes he could sign. Many were shocked when Pittsburgh passed the quarterback in the first round and chose to go with Oregon's defensive tackle Derrick Harmon instead.

Surprising gained weight as the Steelers continued to select other positions in the need for a non-quarterback roster on the second day. Finally, after Sanders was taken away, the Steelers chose Pennsylvania native Will Howard in the sixth round.
Steelers owner Art Rooney II and head coach Mike Tomlin have expressed interest in introducing four MVP quarterbacks after a failed tenure with the New York Jets.
“That's certainly a possibility,” Tomlin told the NFL Network about getting a decision from Rogers right away. “I'm not planning on predicting when IFS and when about not just him, but other potential free agents. We've been talking really productively with him. I enjoy talking productively with him and getting to know him.”
Ultimately, at this point the decision appears to be entirely Rogers's. His retirement is still on the card, just as he was clearly having time with the Green Bay Packers before the 2023 campaign.

However, the real option is only one of the teams that can use his services next season. The Steelers also make something appealing to Rogers, bringing DK Metcalf in trade with the Seahawks, and chasing George Pickens, Jalen Warren, Pat Freyelmut and rookies back Iowa's Caleb Johnson.
Apart from Howard, the Steelers brought back Mason Rudolph and signed Skyler Thompson to fill the quarterback room.
