Wayne Gretzky finally owns a company.
Greetzky became the NHL's all-time goal scorer on March 23, 1994, surpassing Gordie Howe with his 802nd career goal.
Thirty-one years later, another player joined Gretzky.
Washington Capitals' Alex Ovechkin set the Gretzky record on Friday night.

Ovechkin joined the two and took part in a game where three needed two to become the new goalscoring king. He set the ramp on fire just four minutes after his match against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Just five minutes after the third term, the Capitals made a power play and Ovechkin took advantage of it to pass and went beyond goalkeeper Spencer Knight.
The Capitals player stormed the ice as Ovechkin gave a long, loud applause.
Greetzky was in the game, but at the time of publication there were still over 13 minutes left.
Ovechkin was drafted in 2004 with Washington's first general pick, but due to the lockout, his debut was postponed by a year.
In his 20th NHL season, the record goal was Ovechkin's 41st day of the year, ranking third in the NHL behind only Leon Draysithle and William Nylander.

Alex Ovechkin Odds: When will he break Wayne Gretzky's score record?
This is the 14th season in which Ovechkin scored 40 goals in his career. If the league had not had a lockout in 2012-13, he probably has 15 seasons. However, he led the league with 32 goals that year. He has led the NHL with a goal of nine times.
What's even more impressive is that Ovechkin missed nearly two months of this season.
Ovechkin appears to have slowed down a bit last season, scoring 31 goals in 79 games. Perhaps he got the juice knowing he could break records this season.
Ovechkin is breaking records, but the capital is a candidate for the Stanley Cup. Their 105 points ranked second in the NHL.

Even if he took all 894 of Greetzky's goals, he still has the most points in NHL history.
