A senior U.S. official on Taiwan has warned that China is increasing its aggression on the island and that the Taiwanese people are ready to fight.
When asked by Fox News' Aisha Husny whether the islanders intend to have that moment if China invades, Alexander Yui, Taiwan's representative to the United States, told Fox News's Aisha Husny, “Of course we do.” “We have seen Ukraine.”
Taiwan has been closely monitoring the conflict in Eastern Europe as Kiev's forces have been fighting a Russian invasion for more than two years.

Yui said he hoped to avoid needing aid from the U.S. military, which Ukraine also does not have, but indicated he would be happy to accept it if offered.
“If your house was on fire and they offered you a bucket of water, would you say no?'' Yui posed.
The diplomat said Chinese President Xi Jinping has increased tensions in the region since former President Donald Trump left office, but stopped short of accusing the Biden administration of emboldening China.

“Xi Jinping wants to realize what he calls the Chinese dream, and he is showing courage,” Yui said. “What matters is not which US administration we have, but rather what Xi Jinping is thinking.”
Earlier this week, Taiwan's Ministry of Defense tracked eight Chinese military aircraft and two naval vessels near the island. The Defense Ministry said four of the eight planes crossed the median line separating China and Taiwan in the Taiwan Strait, but the Chinese government, which claims ownership of Taiwan, does not recognize the geographical boundary.
A week ago, on September 25, Taiwan's Ministry of Defense announced that it had detected 43 Chinese military aircraft within 24 hours, and 34 of them had crossed the median line. The next day, 41 Chinese military aircraft were discovered near Taiwan.

Mr. Xi is believed to be preparing to invade Taiwan by 2027, meaning the U.S. response will depend on who wins the presidential election in November.

Asked if he had a message for Americans about Taiwan ahead of Election Day, Yui replied that Taiwan is a “peace-loving country.”
“We believe in democracy and freedom. We must share the same values and we want to be included in the world because we…Mainland China “It has been isolated for decades because of the conflict with the country,'' he said.
