It's only been a few years since Arch Manning was undoubtedly the most popular high school recruit in the country. He ultimately decided to bring his potential and famous surname to Austin.
When Quinn Ewers declared for the NFL Draft, it opened Manning's doors to become the starting quarterback for Texas Longhorns in 2025.
During Manning's time on the bench, the young quarterback was faced with questions about whether he would leave Texas for another program that would give him the opportunity to play soon.

Manning recently spoke with the media ahead of his first predicted season as a full-time starter for the Longhorns.
“It was tough, I mean, it's tough in these times,” Manning, 19, said when he spoke about waiting for a turn, according to Athletic. “It's worth the wait sometimes.”

Manning then said he hopes to double his commitment to the Longhorns and stay in Austin for a foreseeable future.

“But I hope it pays off. I want to go anywhere else. I want to go to Texas. I have friends here. I love this place. So I want to be a quarterback at the University of Texas.”
The Arch is Cooper Manning's son. His grandfather, Archie Manning, was enrolled in the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame shortly after his retirement from the NFL. Archie spent over a decade as a Saint quarterback. Arch is also the nephew of Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Eli Manning.

Young Manning is currently tasked with leading Texas to the national championship. This is something the program has not achieved since 2005.
Manning appeared in 10 games last season, but he started in place of the injured cry. The young quarterback finished the 2024 season with 939 passing yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions.

Texas beat Clemson in the first round of the college football playoffs. He then won Arizona State in the quarterfinals with a thrilling overtime. The ultimate national champions, the Ohio State Buckeyes, eliminated the Longhorns from the playoff race in January.
Texas will hold its 2025 season against the Buckeyes on August 30th in Columbus.
