A woman was killed in a car crash involving local police after an apparent confrontation call at the home of Republican North Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Greene reported on social media on Monday that she had been the subject of a bomb threat to her home. The lawmaker said the deputy chief of the Rome Police Department received an email threat, prompting the bomb squad to be called in.
Greene said this is not the first time she has been the target of a bashing since being elected to Congress, noting that she has been “bashed at least nine times.”
A swatting call involves alerting 911 of a false threat against a specific location or person. This can summon a police response and divert resources from actual crimes and threats.

Greene said the emails can be traced to a Russian IP address and that her office will work with local and federal law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Rome police reported a fatal traffic accident involving an officer occurred while responding to Mr. Green's home.
“On Monday, December 9th, a Rome Police Department officer was traveling in his private vehicle on his way to work with the bomb squad. Delays have occurred around the Norfolk Southern Railway tracks. ”

Ms Green said she was “heartbroken” by the fatal crash that claimed the life of a woman and injured a police officer.
“I am heartbroken right now. Today I was just informed that an innocent woman was killed in a car accident involving members of the Rome Police Bomb Squad who were responding to a threat at her home,” she said. wrote.
“These violent political threats have deadly consequences. They are an undue burden on law enforcement that must be taken seriously. Officers responded to protect my life. And now a woman has lost her life because of this despicable act.'' “Our prayers go out to Tammy Pickelsimer, her family, the injured officers, and the entire Rome Police Department.”

Ms. Green became noticeably more furious with each update and accused the perpetrator of murder.
“I'm sick to my stomach, but I'm also angry. This shouldn't have happened and I pray it never happens again,” she said.
She went on to thank the Rome Police Department for protecting the city and risking their lives.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
