Here is my annual important ranking of Super Bowl commercials. This is a pre-match edition with all available national ads I can track. The list will be updated after Sunday's match.
Previous trends? It's not as controversial as you would expect, but also, for perhaps relevant reasons, there's little creativity. It's a bad year for advertising. The one at the top of this list is far less than average. More than usual spots rely entirely on the charm of friendly celebrities (almost certainly men). The concept beats ideas – there are lots of loud, overly complicated stupidity, not simple and effective ways to set up a mood.
(Not all commercials are listed here during the game, and you may see commercials not listed here. Various broadcast and streaming platforms have different ad choices. , some ads are only displayed in certain regions.)
The NFL itself's pleasant promotion “someone” is very produced and influenced in a not-just way. The implicit support of diversity and inclusion provides a calm contrast to the league's decision to abandon the slogan of the end of “end racism.”
No. 2
Stella Artois
David Beckham finds out he has secret twins and looks like Matt Damon. It's pretty appealing, and Ben Affleck's jokes never get old.
No. 3
Squarespace
Actor Barry Keogan rides a donkey around Ye Old Ireland (he's returned to the world of “Inisherin's Banshee”). It's designed to make Keoghan scream “Squarespace!”, but it's cute. Every few seconds.
The coffee maker's stylish “Hello Again” ads scheduled for the pre-game show are trying to remind you of why he once loved Starbucks. And it's kind of a thing!
Number 5
A foundation to fight anti-Semitism
Snoop Dogg and Tom Brady exchange humiliation for 15 seconds, spitting out common reasons to hate each other. Their celebrities are distracted from messages about tolerance, but when Snoop, now, says he “hate things so bad that they have to commercialize about it,” it still goes home Masu.
No. 6
Hexagonal
Gordon Ramsay is adopted for his visiting extraterrestrial cuisine played by Pete Davidson. The scenario is smart, but the Ramsay to Davidson ratio is the exact opposite of what you want.
Ritz crackers are salty, so these are attracting attention. (Bad Bunny stops in for a variety.) It's more clear than most of the joke ads, and Plaza and Shannon are a good pair.
No. 8
Science mom
The possibilities for progress in climate change are charted along the life timeline of a newborn girl. It is a bit clunky and holiness in its execution, but it is unconscious of its feelings.
No. 9
National ads for Google's Gemini Personal Assistant may be the most sophisticated and handsome production in the field. If using Capra-esque family moments to humanize the voice generated by AI coaching fathers for job interviews, then go all out and creeps up, then move this to the bottom of the list .
Dylan Bradshaw and the winner of the $1 million contest, Nate Norell created an ad that most agencies would not be interested in. It's vague – the aliens try very hard to wrestle Doritos' sacks away from its human owner – but it's there.
No. 11
Above
Roger Federer and Elmo are discussing the spelling of Federer's shoe logo. There's even a barely consistent idea here, but that's Roger Federer and Elmo.
No. 12
stōk
Channing Tatum teaches actual players at Wrexham Soccer Club in Wales. Watching Tatum Move is always fun, but no one knows evidence of this number of films and how someone films a dance.
Katherine O'Hara and Willem Dafoe as Pickle Ball Hustlers who play for beer, but it's a good idea.
No. 14
Otaku
His guest appearances on “Cowboy Carter” with Shaboozey, who is riding the waves from “A Bar Song,” sings “What a Wonderful World,” backed by giant, red trumpet-played gummies.
No. 15
Doordash
The presence of always-enchanted comedian Nate Bargatze raises this otherwise indifferent (but enthusiasm) spot and spends money he saves on delivery to clone himself.
Antonio Banderas is totally joking and it's fun to see him transformed into Bosch's fridge glory. However, the appliance and tool companies lose points due to the strange decision to pair Banderas, who plays wrestler Randy Savage, who died in 2011.
No. 17
Hagen Daz
Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez are slow to enjoy the ice cream bar to the sweet sound of Smokey Robinson's “Cruzin” in cool cars on the coastal highway. Their “fast and fierce” persona plays are very few, but it's good to watch.
No. 18
Budweiser
Does the young man who promotes beer sales respond to the sound of the Bellamy brothers to nosing the barrels across the country to Clydesdale's soft, nostalgic pull? That's a calm idea. But the horse is extremely cute.
Issa Ray's immortal favourite adorns a series of gentle vision gags about the stimulation of the tax season.
No. 20
Ram Truck
The fairy tale has been remade as a comic blockbuster, with the ubiquitous Glen Powell (the charm of Anodine is perfect for the present moment) in the role of Goldilock and pickup trucks replacing Porridge –
No.21
Skehees
Andy Reed, who takes a side job as a Kansas City Chiefs coach, is a more natural pitcher than you might expect. He also seems to know that the ads cast as part-time hand models to sell slip-on shoes are completely pointless.
The sound of “Born to Be Wild” involves four women, grandmother's age, converted and participating in a fierce, calm, crazy antics. It all feels a bit disproportionate with what's on sale – floor mats.
No.23
Pepsi
Soft drink brands revive the Pepsi challenge and attack each other with zero sugar korra. There is a decisive, utilitarian announcement focusing on the focus (appearance) on television from 50 years ago.
No.24
Coors Light
Human-sized sloths move their routines very slowly in the office, gym and other locations on the Monday after the Super Bowl. It seems at best a mixed message that Coors Light cases are accompaniment suitable for their sloppy state.
Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal reunite Katz and this time inspired by mayonnaise so she could fake another orgasm. The crystal's reaction is seamless, but no punchline is provided.
No. 26
Nald Warett
High-IQ Beluga Whale with the voice of Kieran Culkin gets a Klutzy Human's mobile phone. The message is that we are an unlucky race that is completely dependent on the Internet, and who can argue.
No. 27
Meta
Chris, Chris and Chris (Hemsworth, Pratt and Jenner) plug in the tech giant's AI-assisted Ray-Ban sunglasses. This pair of intermittently entertaining spots sends a encouraging message that modern art is there to be mocked because of its magnitude, with all the wit and grace you would expect from a tech giant.
The young farm girl was left as everyone else headed towards the fields, plants, and tilted the equally lonely potatoes. The AW factor is very high. The final sudden pivot falls into the announcement of family farm public services.
No. 29
Uber eats
One of two oversert ads featuring Matthew McConaughey (see also Salesforce below). Kevin Bacon, Greta Gerwig and Martha Stewart cameos are good, but is this the best time to joke about conspiracy theory?
No.30
Salesforce
McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are forced, laugh-free scenario attractions that include outdoor restaurant seating and heavy rain. This product is clearly an artificial intelligence that book restaurant tables more intelligently than other AIs can.
The much-loved actor Walton Goggins risks not to be loved a little, and plugs his own Walton Goggins goggles glasses for Godaddy's business creation tool Iro It's in an overly busy place that's what happens.
No. 32
pigeon
This public spot from sellers of soap and other personal care items shows an adorable 3-year-old girl running down the sidewalk, and gives it the title when she was 14 and says she dislikes her feet. You never get a message about positive body image.
No. 33
Instacart
Grocery delivery as a stampede, familiar brand mascots (doboy chef, green giant, grinning pitcher) race across the landscape and arrive together at the homeowner's gateway. It seems to be a damaged recipe.
If you don't know that there is a mustache on the face of the Pringles logo, this high concept spot – flying celebrity mustaches will head to the store and get more tips, but you'll be a little confused.
No. 35
Bad Light
Comedian Shane Gillis and rapper post Malone's Star at a suburban backyard party from Deadpan Ode, with cultural lining and overtones that defies simple analysis. Payton Manning stops by to lend him some folk gravity.
No.36
Booking.com
The booking service promotes its “something for everyone” promise, especially with a scattered montage of hotel accidents that are not appealing to anyone. Various Muppets will make cameo appearances.
Yes, animated stickers of Stella's face and voice sing a parody of his 1994 hit “Kiss From A Rose.” It can cause nightmares, but I have to admit that it makes just as reasonable as “my flipper can't hold Mountain Dew, it's embarrassing.” ”
No. 38
Disney+
Imagine the world without “Star Wars,” “The Simpsons,” or “Bear,” and this bland place for Disney streaming offers makes you think, “Yeah, that wouldn't be that bad.” It might be.
No. 39
Cirkul
Adam Divine from the “Pitch Perfect” movie accidentally orders 100,000 Cirkul water bottles, a gag tied up to actual presents that are said to be taking place during the Super Bowl. It's hard to say which is more annoying: the concept of spending money on advertising and branded water bottles.
The confused lover of company “chocolate lava” candy tries to eat actual lava. It's a head scratcher.
No. 41
Totino's Pizza Rolls
Do you base your frozen pizza snack campaign on an animated alien that looks like a heartburn walking personification?
