The Big Ten announced Sunday that it had fined Michigan State and Ohio State $100,000 each for a postgame brawl after the Wolverines defeated the Buckeyes in a rivalry game.
After the game, a scuffle broke out as University of Michigan players tried to plant a flag in the middle of the field. Ohio State didn't take too kindly to the move, and a scuffle began. Police used pepper spray to break up some of the scuffles.

“The Big Ten Conference has determined that the actions of both teams following the Michigan vs. Ohio State football game on Saturday, November 30, 2024, violated the Big Ten Sportsmanship Policy,” the conference said in a statement. Announced. “The actions of both teams not only violated fundamental elements of sportsmanship, such as respect and courtesy, but also jeopardized the safety of participants and bystanders due to the nature of the incident.”
“As a result of these violations, the Big Ten Conference has fined both the University of Michigan and Ohio State University $100,000 each,” the statement continued.
“The Big Ten Conference considers this matter closed and will have no further comment.”

A FOX Sports broadcast captured the moment a Michigan flag was placed over the Ohio State logo, apparently sparking a skirmish. It wasn't immediately clear which player tried to plant the flag, but video from the stands showed several Ohio State players on the field where Michigan players were centered around the flag. appeared to be in a hurry.
Ohio State defensive end Jack Sawyer snatched the flag and then threw it to the ground.
“After the game, officers from multiple law enforcement agencies helped quell the altercation on the field. During the scuffle, multiple officers representing Ohio State and Michigan State deployed pepper spray. “We are the lead agency and will continue to investigate,” the newspaper said. The ministry said in a statement regarding X:
Immediately after the game, Michigan running back Karel Mullins told FOX Sports in an on-field interview that the incident was “bad for the sport.”

“It was a great game. You don't want to see something like that happen after the game. It's bad for the sport, it's bad for college football. But once the game is over, they have to learn how to lose. “You can do it.'' Don't pick a fight just because you lost the match. ”
“We had 60 minutes and four quarters to fight all those fights, and now people want to talk and fight. That's wrong. I think the lack of weight class is bad for the game. I think people want to be better.”
