The 72-year-old has spent nearly five decades on NFL sidelines, but a new report says he may just be interested in moving on to the college ranks.

Belichick will be replacing another legend in Mack Brown, who had a 288-155-1 record at UNC, Texas, Tulane and Appalachian State.
Belichick and the New England Patriots parted ways after the 2023 season, Belichick's 24th season with the team. He won six Super Bowls during his stay and earned another pair as defensive coordinator for the New York Giants.
UNC announced that Brown would be leaving the program ahead of Saturday's regular-season finale against North Carolina State, which was disrupted following the Wolfpack's flag-planting incident.

Belichick's name has been floating around in rumors amid the recent coaching changes, and perhaps several others could be in the running.
He had opening interviews with both the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Chargers in the offseason, but each went in different directions.
The eight-time Super Bowl champion has since become a media sensation, appearing frequently on Monday Night Football's Manning Cast. He also served as an analyst for this year's NFL Draft.
This is Belichick's first reported interview since making the NFL rounds in the offseason.

This will be Belichick's first college job, although his father, Steve, coached at Navy. He became a special assistant with the Baltimore Colts in 1975, and his first head coaching job came 16 years later when he was hired as head coach of the Cleveland Browns.
