A week after their dominant performance against the Detroit Lions, the Buffalo Bills notched a not-so-convincing win in a called game against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
The Bills were expected to blow the lowly Patriots out of the water. However, New England continued to defend themselves for at least three-quarters of the game. A costly mistake by rookie QB Drake Maye in the fourth quarter helped the Bills take advantage of a 24-21 victory.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott was asked Monday about his team's first-half performance. He said he was going to do an airplane comparison but didn't want to get into it.
“Um, well, I was going to compare it to flying an airplane, but I'll leave it at that,” he said.
McDermott appears to have referenced a head-scratching story from last December in which he was revealed to be trying to explain how the team could come together after a season in which they lost in the AFC Championship.

That moment is captured in Ty Dunne's Go Long TD substack.
“He told the entire team that we needed to come together,” Dunn wrote of McDermott. “But then, sources say, he used a strange model: the September 11, 2001 terrorists. as a group of people.
“One by one, McDermott began asking questions to specific players in the room: “What tactics do you think they used to work together?'' The younger players asked, “What do you think is the biggest obstacle?'' ' I tried to answer methodically. The veteran answered, “TSA,” and thankfully the atmosphere lightened. ”
McDermott said last year that he regretted that analogy.
