Republican Sen. Ryan Fatman is wary of the impact of the “complete storm” of democratic policies that say they are destroying public safety and pushing up costs of living.
One Policy – Enacted by the 2017 Massachusetts Supreme Court ruling Lunn vs. Commonwealth.
Under the ruling, law enforcement is also not permitted to respect the ice “detainee” demands, and in many cases force police departments and sheriff's offices to release dangerous crime offences on the streets without notifying the ice.
This forced several offence corporations to be re-arrested after being released on bail by Massachusetts law enforcement with crimes such as child rape and fentanyl trafficking after being released on bail without bail.
Fattman told Fox News Digital that these cases were not quarantined, but “it's happening across the federal world.”

He also pointed to Massachusetts' “Rights of Shelter” Act. This has created a vast network of immigration shelters that have sacrificed more than $3 billion in taxpayer dollars in the state since 2021.
A request for public records from the Boston Globe has documented more than 3,000 pages of documents perpetuated by illegals living in state-funded shelter systems where cases of rape, domestic violence, assault and other crimes were perpetuated by illegals.
“There's a perfect storm going on in Massachusetts,” Fatman said. “There are 3,000 pages of public safety cases, 3 billion pages and dollars spent on taxpayer dimes, and there are literally broken federal cities and towns.”
The former superintendent said, “Ramp-stressing” abuse in the Blue State immigration shelter system:

He held Maura Healy's government, the Massachusetts Democrat, and the Democratic majority Congress accountable for the crisis.
“99% of political asylum cases in our immigration courts will be denied,” he said. “So, the assumption that these individuals will come to the Commonwealth and many of them are good people, and they may be able to work here and live here, that's not true. So we spent 99% of people who wouldn't become legal residents of the Commonwealth in Massachusetts.

“This is insanity and we have to change,” he continued. “People are tired of this. They want the safety of their children and their families. They walk down the street and know that nothing happens to them, that they can work hard and move on. And that's not happening in the Commonwealth.”
In an effort to curb the insanity, Fatman introduced a bill called the “Shield Act,” which essentially overturns the decision of Ran by allowing local and state law enforcement to work with the ice to protect criminal illegal immigrants from the streets.
The Democratic mayor blew up after vowing to turn major cities into “safe shelters” for illegal immigration.

Massachusetts is in a solid blue state, but Fatman is optimistic that citizens will somehow demand change from leaders.
“I think this is a situation that is unacceptable politically for many people,” he said, adding that “Congress must create a law for this law to exist, and therefore ice detainees are not honored, and the remedies are representatives of Congress.”

“Massachusetts is considered a blue state, but there are large, large strips of purple and red in the state, and those places are just sick of it,” he continued. “They are tired of being an individual who sees their neighbors being assaulted and look at the headlines, and pregnant women are injured at the hands of people who do not legally exist in our state or country.”
“To add humiliation to the injury, we come here and pay you for you, your food, your education, your health care and your shelter, which costs billions of dollars,” he added. “We are reaching a critical mass where pressure is at the time of the explosion.”
