Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston was confused during the team's 41-32 loss to the Denver Broncos on Monday night.
Winston, 30, threw for a career-high 497 yards and four touchdowns, a Browns franchise record. He also threw three interceptions, including two back-breaking pick-sixes.
After the match, Winston reflected on his performance, which had its ups and downs.

“Times like these are an opportunity for the Lord to continue to grow, even in the most difficult of circumstances. I know I'm better than this, I just want the Lord to release me from the pick. Like, I'm praying for it – that's not me. Just like a phenomenal game, the offense did some great things, but I messed up,” Winston said after the game. .
Winston's first pick came with less than two minutes left in the second quarter. The Browns were trailing 14-10 and were looking to accumulate points by the end of the first half.
After surveying the field for a first down, Winston attempted a checkdown to tight end Jordan Akins. Linebacker Nick Bonitto dove in front of Akins, intercepted the pass and completed a 71-yard pick-six.
Winston answered the pick-six and led the Browns down the field, scoring his second touchdown of the game with a 4-yard pass to tight end David Njoku. The score came just before the end of the first half, cutting the Broncos' lead to 21-17.

The second pick-six came with less than two minutes left in the fourth quarter. The Browns were losing 34-32, but were looking for a comeback. Winston targeted wide receiver Elijah Moore on first down, but the pass was undercut by cornerback Jaquan McMillan.
McMillan fell, but got back up and ran to the end zone, effectively ending the game and giving the Broncos a two-point lead, 41-32.
Winston was known as a gunslinger throughout his career, with 152 career touchdown passes and 106 interceptions. In 2019, Winston led the NFL with 5,109 passing yards, 33 touchdowns, and 30 interceptions.

Winston's 497 passing yards in the loss marked the fifth game of his career in which he had over 400 passing yards in a single game.
Winston is 2-3 as the Browns' starter since replacing the injured Deshaun Watson. He completed 61.3 percent of his passes for 1,763 yards and threw for 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
The loss drops the Browns to 3-9 and they will next face the Pittsburgh Steelers, but Winston wishes the Lord had given him more picks.
