Should the Browns have stuck with Baker Mayfield? |Flock
The Cleveland Browns were overwhelmed by the Dallas Cowboys, led by the underperforming Deshaun Watson. Meanwhile, Baker Mayfield has found success as the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Colin Cowherd and Nick Wright ask if the Browns should play…
Jameis Winston made his first start for the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, looking to pull off an upset of the Baltimore Ravens, one of the best teams in the NFL.
This will be Winston's first start at quarterback since September 25, 2022, when he was with the New Orleans Saints. Since then, he has appeared in just a few games. But he was called up because the Browns had quarterback issues after Deshaun Watson suffered a season-ending injury.

Before the game, Winston was caught on camera giving a speech to his teammates.
“I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe. Listen, no eye has seen, no ear has heard what the Lord has in mind for the Cleveland Browns. “I haven't,” he said. “We don't need instant gratification. We don't need to see something good happen to us. We need to believe.
Patrick Mahomes is already saying no. 2nd place in goat conversation,” says former NFL star.

“We have to have that unwavering belief. And I understood that. You only get one chance. You only get one chance. Make the most of it. And I I trust the crew. Who's with me?”
After the speech, Browns players were excited.
Cleveland was scheduled to play a potentially important game to end the season. Teams that are 1-6 don't usually make it back to the postseason, but it's very difficult to do that at 1-7.
Watson suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon tear last week, shortly after the team traded Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills.

Cleveland still has enough defense around Myles Garrett to put pressure on the quarterback. And when Nick Chubb gets going, the star running back has the ability to pack a punch in the backfield.
