In April, the Indiana Fever secured the first overall pick in the WNBA Draft for the second consecutive year.
The franchise opted to draft highly coveted forward Caitlin Clark, adding a player unanimously considered the top prospect to the team.
WNBA draft rookie cards are typically produced every year, but Clark's cards are selling for unusually high prices.
The card sold at auction for an estimated $84,000.

This unique card is also autographed by Clark.
Clark's card surpasses the previous record for the most expensive women's basketball card ever, set earlier this year when $78,000 was paid for an autographed 2022 Bowman University Caitlin Clark Superfractor.

The “Blue Viper” version of Clark's Panini Instant Brand card marks the first time she has appeared on a card in a Fever jersey.
This is the second-highest-selling card in women's sports history. More than 20 years ago, a Net Pro autographed patch card of tennis star Serena Williams sold for $266,400. The card included a piece of tennis clothing worn by Williams in a match.

The Fever finished the 2023 season with a 13-win record and missed the postseason, but Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and 2023 top draft pick Aaliyah Boston helped the team reverse its fortunes. Indiana finished the 2024 regular season with a 20-20 record.

Clark finished the regular season averaging 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game. Her assist average was the best in the league in 2024. The Connecticut Suns' Alyssa Thomas averaged 7.9 assists per game, second in the WNBA this season.
Clark and the Fever recently qualified for the playoffs, and the first-round series between Indiana and the Sun begins Sunday.
