Four-time WNBA champion Sue Bird doubled her Rookie of the Year votes.
During the latest episode of her podcast, “A Touch More” with Megan Rapinoe, Bird said she watched Friday's game between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky, a game that Bird said many viewed as Clark vs. Angel Reese's defining ROY moment.

But for Bird, the decision was made long before the Fever beat the Sky, 100-81.

“I think this was a game that everybody was looking forward to because a lot of people felt like this game was going to affect the Rookie of the Year decision,” Bird said on the podcast.
“I personally felt that Kaeltyn was the Rookie of the Year since the All-Star break, and she's continued to prove that ever since.”
Bird had high praise for the entire Fever team, which clinched its first playoff berth since 2016.

“She's had a big game,” Bird said of Clark, who had a career-high 31 points and 12 assists. “You can't talk about the Indiana Fever without talking about Kelsey Mitchell, who is on a phenomenal roll right now. She's in top form and shooting the ball like crazy.”
Clark continued his case for Rookie of the Year honors on Wednesday night.
