“Katelyn Clark has had an incredible impact on the WNBA,” Leslie told the outlet. “Especially her ability to get out and play after her college season. And just coming to the WNBA and having the effect she really did, it was really great. I was so proud of Caitlyn.”
Leslie said on paper that Fever's roster “looks amazing.” Indiana added Sidney Colson, Sophie Cunningham and Dewanna Bonner to the roster and rehired Stephanie White as new head coach.
The basketball hall of fame said the accumulation of rosters and growing expectations will bring additional pressure.
“So when I talked about Caitlyn in my sophomore year, she was more skilled and had time to rest. She really had time to reorganize and see exactly where she wanted to go,” Leslie said. “Obviously (heat) has a lot of new players and new coaches. It also builds up a lot of pressure. It's not that hard to win. Getting a new coach, a new teammate is not easy. You're trying to build this chemistry.

“And they can't. I'm not saying they can't. The All-Star Game is in Indiana. Everything is laid out. Caitlin really had the time to really handle what the WNBA looks like and how it feels, and fans are sure they're already sold out.
Clark did not create the US women's national basketball team for the 2024 Parisiolim Games. However, after the Olympic break, it looked like a blessing in disguise as she appears to be in more sync with her fever teammates than at the beginning of the regular season.
Indiana made the playoffs for the first time in 2024 since 2016 when White was still head coach. Fever finished 20-20 in 2024 and revived key players such as Kelsey Mitchell, Aliya Boston, Natasha Howard and Lexie Hull.
