The no-call could have prevented Clark from winning the game on the free throw line as contact occurred on a shot past the three-point arc. But it also sacrificed Clark's major WNBA milestone opportunity.
Clark, who finished with 18 points, fell to just two points in 10 rebound games with 20 points. It was the 11th of her career and would have been the most in the history of the league. Clark is tied to Courtney Vanderroot at 10.
Cloud and Liberty walked away towards the season to defend their title with the team's first 3-0 start.
Cloud is frank about his backlash against physical theatre towards Clark.

In an interview with Ryan Clark about the “Pivot Podcast” in March, Cloud argued that anger was rooted in “racism” in response to his hits in Clark.
“It's just part of the game. There was no target. There was nothing. “Yeah, vets hate rookies. Rookies hate veterinarians. Vets are chasing certain players.” It's all bulls – if I'm just being candid, it's all racist,” Cloud said.
“It's blown away by 'Yeah, they're chasing Caitlyn Clark.' But no, we're just playing one of the best players in this league the way the other best players and franchise players have been played. ”
