Shedul Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes defeated their in-state rival Colorado State Rams on Saturday night, but judging by his actions when the final whistle blew, the quarterback was clearly keeping a close eye on what his opponents were saying before the game.
As Sanders was shaking hands with the Rams coaching staff, Colorado State quarterback Braden Fowler-Nicolosi approached him and tried to do the same.
But Sanders quickly backed away and started complaining to Fowler-Nicolosi.

“You were talking trash on Instagram. You were talking on Instagram. We did our job. You can't mess with me,” Sanders can be heard telling Fowler-Nicolosi, who then told him to “keep talking” before walking away.
For reference, Fowler Nicolosi was heard prior to this game talking about last year's double-overtime game against the Buffaloes, in which Colorado was favored by 27.5 points.

“They went into the game with that attitude and thought it was going to be a breeze,” Fowler-Nicolosi said in an interview. “They saw the report, it was 27.5 or whatever, and then they woke up quickly to reality. I think it just goes to show that there's a ceiling to all the hype and media stuff and all that.”
“At the end of the day, you have to put 11 players against our 11 players and we'll see who wants to win more and we'll see where their Instagram following takes them.”

The Instagram follower's comments sparked a major debate on social media, further fuelled by comments from Colorado State wide receiver Tony Horton.
“We all came here to play football, so at the end of the day, the millions of followers and fans that they've generated and garnered, the celebrities that are on their side because of who Deon Sanders is. At the end of the day, Deon Sanders isn't playing,” Horton said. “It's the players that are playing, and the players back up what they're saying.”

Houghton added: “We should have killed them. We came for revenge.”
Sanders and the Buffaloes lived up to expectations on Saturday night, throwing for 310 yards and four touchdowns, including two from versatile two-way star Travis Hunter, en route to a 28-7 victory.
Sanders was seen talking to Colorado State fans during the game and was clearly looking to prove something after the team's disastrous loss to Nebraska the previous week.
Meanwhile, Fowler Nicolosi threw for 209 yards and two interceptions.
