Travis Hunter is one of college football's most dynamic stars.
Colorado's wide receiver and defensive back subtly responded to recent negative comments directed at him by former NFL player Richard Sherman.
Sherman was a guest this week on the St. Brown Podcast, co-hosted by Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and his brother, New Orleans Saints player Equanimious St. Brown. Appeared.
At one point during the appearance, Sherman downplayed Hunter's impact on the offensive side of the ball, suggesting he was a “bland” receiver.

Coach Sherman praised the two-way star's all-around athleticism, but the former Seattle Seahawks defensive back felt Hunter was a better fit at cornerback.
Sherman's analysis seemed to focus on the opinion that Hunter's natural route-running skills were subpar.

“We're not playing 50 snaps on offense and 55 snaps on defense. Hey, the offensive coordinators are going to test you,” Sherman said.
“These quarterbacks will say, 'Hey, let's see how you're doing by the end of the fourth quarter. I saw you run three go routes. Three more to go. We're going to bring in a third receiver to run the book. Go for the route and then go ahead and do your job, baby.”

Hunter heard Sherman's criticism and decided to send a message of his own. When he came out of the tunnel Saturday before the University of Colorado game against the UCF Knights, he was wearing a shirt that said “Bland.”
Hunter effectively resolved a serious conflict with Sherman earlier this week. The Buffaloes star spoke with Sherman on the phone and said the Super Bowl champion did apologize during their conversation.

“He didn't mean to be like that, it wasn't like negative energy. (Sherman) said he watched me a lot. I grew up watching him. …The 49ers were my favorite team when I was there.' …Playing DB, I modeled my game after him when I was younger,” Hunter said as shared by Well Off Media. said in the video.
“He said he apologized to me and I accepted the apology. … It just hurt a little bit because I respect him.”

Hunter entered Saturday's game against the Knights with 472 receiving yards.
