Conservative activists and media outlets weighed in on X over a clip of a CNN interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, in which she explained why her policy positions have changed since accepting the Democratic presidential nomination.
In a clip of the interview to air Thursday night on CNN, anchor Dana Bash asked, “Generally speaking, how should voters view some of the changes you've made? … Is it because you've got more experience, you're more informed? Is it because you were running for president in the Democratic primary? And should voters feel reassured and confident that what you're saying now is going to be your policy going forward?”
“Dana, I think the most important and significant thing about my policy views and decisions is that my values have not changed,” Harris responded.
“You mentioned the Green New Deal. I've always believed and committed to the climate crisis, that it's real and that it's an urgent issue that should be subject to standards like deadlines. We did that with the Inflation Control Act,” Harris continued.
Trump and Vance continue to accuse Harris of “copying” their policies

“This doesn't make sense,” conservative commentator Steve Guest wrote on X. “The definition of a deadline is 'the latest time or date by which something must be completed.'”
Noah Rothman, a senior writer at National Review, called her comments “incoherent.”
British-American journalist Charles C.W. Cook called the clip an “instant classic.”
“She's undefeated. Even as a candidate, she still has power,” he said.
The Blaze's X account called the comments “word salad,” a term Republicans often use to describe Harris' media activity.

“For example, we've set targets for when the United States, and indeed the planet, must achieve certain standards of greenhouse gas emission reductions,” Harris continued.
“Those values haven't changed. My values about what we need to do to secure our border haven't changed,” she said.

“During my two terms as California's Attorney General, I prosecuted the illegal movement of guns, drugs and people across borders, international criminal organizations and violations of U.S. law. My values have not changed,” she said.
