Korn Ferry Tour veteran Ryan McCormick used unconventional methods to calm his temper in the second round of Friday's Club Car Championship.
McCormick, who competed on the PGA Tour last year but returned to development this year, has revealed that he has problems maintaining his composure on the golf course. This week at the Landing Golf & Athletic Club in Georgia, he decided to test some new angry management tools.

“I haven't been running that much on the golf course this year. I'm pretty angry and crazy,” he said in a video shared on a tour on social media. “I thought I'd tried a lot, so I thought I'd go quiet. So I put tape on my mouth.”
“I'm so mad at the golf course. I've run out of ideas. I thought of tape a few weeks ago,” he added with a laugh. “So, unfortunately, it turned out to be that today. I was hoping it would help me.
McCormick said the idea stemmed from his desire to create a better environment for his playing partner.

One of the big hurdles to his latest “solution” was how he communicated with his caddy. McCormick's answer to that was the old-fashioned way: pen and paper.
“Mainly I'm just writing down numbers,” he said. “I'd just point it out and ask him to do something I read from time to time. It made things easier, I'll tell you that.”
The judges may be out about how the tape helped his frustration, but that certainly didn't have a positive effect on his game.

McCormick shot 72 and missed the cut after a few strokes. He entered the tournament on No. 126 on the points list, which could drop even further after Friday's performance.
