Jerry Jones is one of the most high-profile and outspoken NFL team owners. The 82-year-old billionaire is not shy about sharing his thoughts on a variety of subjects, especially when it comes to topics related to professional football.
Earlier this year, the league announced it had reached a three-year deal with Netflix. The deal gives the streaming giant rights to the 2024 Christmas doubleheader. This game is available exclusively to Netflix subscribers at no additional charge.
Although Christmas falls on a Wednesday this year, Jones hopes the game will continue to be scheduled every year, regardless of the day of the week.

“Christmas is Christmas Day. We're not waiting to see what day Christmas is. We want to be there on Christmas Day,” Jones said during an appearance on Dallas radio station 105.3 The Fan. he said.
“No matter what day it is in the future, I think we’ll be there for Christmas.”

Christmas in 2025 will fall on a Thursday. Considering the league already hosts games on Thursday nights throughout the regular season, NFL schedulers are likely preparing for that. However, in 2029, the holiday falls on a Tuesday, which may pose some challenges.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will host the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs in the first of two games this holiday season. The Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans will also face off in a special game during the holiday season. All four of these teams played their Week 16 games on Saturday in preparation for Wednesday's game.

The league has scheduled games on Christmas Day in recent years. But for decades, the NBA has traditionally dominated Christmas by scheduling some games on Christmas Day. The NBA still has some of its top teams scheduled for the holiday season, but those games will now compete with the NFL.

There are no NHL games scheduled for Wednesday.
Under the terms of a multiyear deal with the league, Netflix also purchased the rights to stream at least one holiday game in 2025 and 2026.
“Last year, we decided to make a big bet on live comedy, reality shows, and “We decided to tap into a wide range of fandoms, including sports.” It was announced.
“No other live annual event, sports or otherwise, can match the audience that NFL football draws. We're thrilled that the NFL's Christmas Day game will be available exclusively on Netflix. ”

However, Netflix is hosting a special Christmas Day match under some pressure after many subscribers faced problems with their live stream feed during the recent Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight.
