Carton, who is also co-host of Fox Sports' “Breakfast Ball,” is open about his gambling addiction. He says that it's been seven years since he gambled and his work with Fan Duel in his fifth year has a message that has helped many.
“I always listen to me and after hearing about my partnership with Fundael, I always get to reach out to me,” he said in the radio queue ahead of Sunday Super Bowl in New Orleans. He told Fox News Digital.
“We see the results of labor over the past four years that people are unfortunately unable to gamble responsibly and recreationally. I think it's starting out. “Hey, this is how it looks, this is how it feels if someone in my life is gambling out of control.
“We are blessed to be with Fundael in our fifth year now. People sign the tools that Fundael has to offer to make sure the message is working. It's up and it's very rewarding.”

Carton says the partnership will not only help people suffering from controlled gambling, but also help him when he is listening because he is open.
“For many people, (gambler anonymous) is the only answer,” he said. “I went to Georgia, which is great for the majority of people. For me, it's absolutely true that talking to new people who haven't spoken about the gambling problem and how to overcome it in years. It is therapeutic to.
“When I do a 'comeback', a new show we're premiering at Fundael, or 'Hello, my name is Craig', WFAN in New York City, that's my Georgia. You can hear from others, please share my story.
“Even if it's nearly seven years without gambling, it's a good reminder for me. It's clever. Hearing other people's recovery stories, and listening to the worst life moments they intend to do is To hear it is selfish and extremely healthy for me.”

Carton preaches for how responsible games have been highly normalized across the country. And that means that the next generation will grow in that world.
“As a 21 year old is a child, it's the biggest target group of people we're worried about,” he said. “They are still immature and don't actually get the full value of a dollar. So, especially if there are certain states, I want to make sure those kids have as much information as possible. But… I was just talking to a radio show today in North Carolina.
“The giant basketball in college soccer states. So if you're a college kid, that makes sense.” Oh, I'm betting on Duke, North Carolina, North Carolina. Children who are legally permitted to do what we are most concerned about now.
“Only my kids, the next generation of gamblers, or sports lovers, talking about gambling is just a dinner table conversation.”
Carton doesn't say that the conversation at the dinner table is a bad thing. He feels that sports gambling is normalized and that talking about your problems with friends and family, or with a loved one who shows signs of problematic gambling will not be criticized.

“The majority of that is that if it's normalized, if it's mainstream, it's now much easier to ask for help, because when I've experienced it, it's Because it wasn't. He said, “No one wants to admit that they're addicts. Your ego is, “I screwed you, I'm fine!”
“If you have friends you're worried about, talk to them. That's number one. You're the first line of defense. In front of your family you know that their peers aren't themselves. They are friends. They are not acting, usually when they are gambling, it's hard to win.
“So you'll do it, do it responsibly, get a responsible amount to go to a movie or a Broadway show. If you win, it's great. Put some of that money down. The answer is , I think, “Well, I'll let myself bet.” That's when you start to get into trouble. ”
