At a time when partisanship has seeped into every crevice of our country, when you add a massive political realignment and a huge gender gap, you create a huge disconnect.
At the same time, people experience news and information in ways that we don't fully understand.
If you compare almost any man's Twitter feed to a woman's TikTok following, the perspective is completely different. The impact of this is unknown.

Former President Trump will end his campaign with more popularity than ever before. He survived two assassination attempts. He campaigned vigorously and ruthlessly. It might work.
Vice President Kamala Harris has campaigned cautiously and mostly quietly, avoiding taking positions or answering questions, taking over a situation where Democrats are rapidly abandoning President Biden. And it might work.
