But what Democrats and the media didn't appreciate is that integrity always plays better with voters than obvious lies.
The voters I discussed nationwide after Biden dropped out of the race in July knew he was in decline. Even among Democrats, it was an open secret. Everyone knew.
No one bought any ridiculous nonsense about verifying video footage being cheap fakes.
For 40% of voters who hate Donald Trump like suede hate the rain, the lies didn't make any difference, they would have voted for President Woodrow Wilson's mummified body against Trump.

However, many people either accepted the lie or claimed for similar reasons as those stated by the old man in Shakespeare's Sonnet 138.

And in our mistakes by lies, we become flat.
The problem for Biden and the Democrats in 2024 was independent voters. They were open to the idea that Biden was fine, not only with the lie that he was a better option than Trump.
All winks and nods, the feat of bicycle rides and storylines is the feat of real debate that Democrats were doing. And that team is better than Trump.

There is a wide range of opinions now about Joe Biden being “delivered” exactly as “for the Americans,” but Tarloff is right. This is at least arguing that the Biden administration would prefer Trump, which doesn't require blatant, transparent lies.
What's worse than lying is knowing you're lying, and that's a position where Biden's team placed democratic and independent voters until they finished the race with disgrace.
The good news about both the Democrats and the liberal media is that we are seeing clear false outcomes this time. The price is paid. This is the only way anything can be changed.
The Democrats' 2024 losses were humiliating and complete as they not only lost the problem but got caught up in a lie. Similarly, liberal media can cry every fake Mea culpa they want, but their ratings and relevance are still falling apart.

Perhaps the saddest victim of this lie was Joe Biden himself, who was not allowed to end his long tenure in public service with dignity, but rather was tied to the strings of a marionette that made him dance as if he had found a fountain of youth.
It sometimes takes a while, but as Shakespeare said, “The truth will ultimately win” and the next Democrats may learn this lesson.
