Democrats love to accuse Republicans of politicizing current events, but that's exactly what they spent last week. They spin wild stories built on falsehoods, conveniently ignoring evidence on record.
Let's start with the facts. Kilmer Abrego Garcia was not accidentally deported. It was a lie inserted into a legal summary by a Department of Justice (DOJ) lawyer who has been shot since then. In 2019, not one, but two courts ruled that he was a member of MS-13 and illegally domestic. During the bond hearing, the immigration judge found that Abrego Garcia presented danger to his community and did not refute evidence in favour of MS-13 membership. Despite the Democratic claims against him, Garcia went through legitimate procedures. His case was reviewed and rejected multiple times.
Garcia is not just a “Maryland” man, nor is the right husband and father to the artwork that the media is drawing. He is an El Salvadoran national with a violent criminal history and ties with designated terrorist groups. As of February 6, 2025, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Attorney General Pam Bondy have officially designated MS-13 as a foreign terrorist organization under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). Since that designation, Garcia no longer has a legal basis for seeking further immigration relief.
Senator Van Hollen meets and shakes hands with Abrego Garcia. El Salvador says inmates remain in custody
The recent district court order that attempted to order Garcia's return from El Salvador is illegal in itself. In fact, judicial orders in which administrative agencies engage in foreign forces in certain ways are unconstitutional. Foreign policy is carried out by the president rather than the courts, and no federal judge has constitutional authority to direct how the president engages with foreign countries. But that's exactly what this command was trying to do.
Democrats continue to chant “I'll bring him home,” but they ignore this important fact: Garcia is a citizen of El Salvador. He was not reverted to El Salvador against the court's order and was excluded in accordance with years of legal and national security principles. Certainly, the immigration judge who recognized Garcia's withholding statutory tax withheld in El Salvador did so because of credible fear of persecution. Because Garcia had legal status in the United States, this form of relief does not recognize a person's residence and does not negate national security concerns. Additionally, once the MS-13 was designated as a terrorist group, Garcia quickly became unqualified for immigrant relief.
Rather than stand up for its members of its American citizens, Democrats continue to spend all their political capital on illegal aliens who have ties to designated terrorist organizations. Case: During the first 50 days of the Trump administration, Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) made 32,809 enforcement arrests, including more than 14,111 convicted offenders and more than 1,000 criminal gang members. Instead of celebrating these victories, Democrats remain silent on the topic of border security.
When given the opportunity to protect Americans by supporting the Laken Riley Act, a common-sense bill that strengthens penalties for criminally illegal aliens, 35 Democrats in the Senate and 156 Democrats in the House voted against it.

Where was Senator Chuck Schumer's rage when the 92-year-old woman was raped and murdered in Queens in 2020? Where was Senator Richard Blumental when Casey Chadwick was murdered in 2015 in 2015 in an illegal murder conviction murdered by Haitian illegal alien Jean Jacques?
Perhaps the most shocking example is Sen. Chris Van Hollen, who traveled thousands of miles and may have spent thousands of taxpayer dollars to enjoy a round of margaritas with violent criminals. Over the past week, dozens of Democrats have spent a lot of time tweeting about Garcia.

Again and again, Democrats only show compassion when illegal foreign immigrants are victims, but they resist any effort to prosecute and prevent the crime committed by them. Rather than acknowledge the steps President Trump took to secure the country, they continue to spin the false narrative and cling to undermine his administration every turn.
If Democrats spent even a small portion of the energy protecting American victims as defending Garcia, then perhaps pointless tragedy like the murders of Laken Riley and Rachel Morin could have been hampered. Democrats' priorities are clear. Fortunately, the fact is the same. Garcia's removal was not only justified, but also postponed.
