WWE announced Sunday that Sabu, a wrestling legend who created his own name as a hardcore, violent wrestler in the ring, has passed away. He was 60 years old.
The wrestler, whose real name was Terry Blank, held his final event in Las Vegas over WrestleMania weekend, defeating Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) Joey Janela in a barbed wire match on the ropes.

“WWE is saddened to learn that Terry Blank, known to wrestling with fans as a sub, has passed away,” the company said in a statement. “WWE is fond of sad dol to sub's family, friends and fans.”

GCW added: “He was an outlaw and a game changer. He inspired a lot of people and stepped into the GCW ring.
“His legacy will last forever and he will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, and… a long-lived sub.”
Sub had an indelible influence on the world, which was known by those who responded to his death.

Sub was the nephew of Ed Farhatt, known as Shake in WWE, who won multiple championships in multiple companies.

He made a major impact in extreme championship wrestling, taking part in the most wild matches in sports entertainment and pioneering hardcore wrestling, helping style become more mainstream.

At the pinnacle of his career, he was the triple crown champion of extreme championship wrestling. He won the ECW World Heavyweight Championship twice and won the Tag Team Championship three times. He also hosted the ECW World TV Championship and was the FTW Heavyweight Championship.
