Miami Dolphins star receiver Tyreek Hill made it pretty clear after Sunday's loss to the New York Jets that he was ready to move on, but that wasn't the case the next day, according to general manager Chris Grier.
Grier addressed Hill's comments to the media on Tuesday, saying he and head coach Mike McDaniel met with the veteran wideout on Monday, including his postgame remarks and the fact that he appeared to leave the game early. He added that they had talked about it.

“One thing I can say is that in a disappointing season, in a game where we had a chance to come back from 6-2, he was very emotional. Maybe that's why I talked to the players on the microphone. , and I would say that's what I'm most proud of Mike's coaching staff, we were playing Week 18 with a 2-6 record and a chance to make the playoffs, and our conversation So I think to some extent he played through his injuries. I'll keep it a secret – but we had a productive conversation. ”
Greer said Hill did not “retract” his statements but did not specifically request a trade.
“No, I'd like to say that, but he never asked to trade me.”

The Dolphins' slim chance of making the playoffs ended with a 30-22 loss to the already-eliminated Jets on Sunday. Hill sat out the fourth quarter, but after the game he indicated he was ready to take the next step.
“This is the first time we missed the playoffs,” he said. “For me, I have to do what's best for me and my family, whether it's here or wherever. I'm going to open that door for myself. I'm opening the door. ”
“I'm out, brother. It was great to play here, but at the end of the day I have to do what's best for my career…I'm too competitive just to be there. It's my opponent.'' ”

McDaniel echoed Grier's views on Monday's meeting, adding that he also agreed with Hill on the decision to leave the game early.
“I had a very frank discussion with him. He was very honest and the terms we were discussing were excellent. “Without a break, walking away from the game is not and will not be acceptable. We discussed several things. He accepted the responsibility.
Regarding the relationship between the two, McDaniel added, “I can't say that there is necessarily anything that needs to be repaired, since we needed to clear the air of a rough and tumultuous situation.''
