Canadian rapper Drake is no stranger to putting his money where his mouth is when it comes to placing huge bets on sporting events.
Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and YouTuber turned professional boxer Jake Paul faced off on Friday night. The long-awaited match attracted great interest and large sums of money were bet.

Drake was convinced that 58-year-old Tyson could win a match against 27-year-old Paul and bet hundreds of thousands of dollars on “Iron Mike.” However, in the end Paul defeated Tyson by unanimous decision.

In a social media post, Drake revealed that he had bet $355,000 for Tyson to win at odds of +285. Considering these odds, the five-time Grammy winner could have earned around $1 million.
Drake was not the only prominent figure to suffer heavy losses as a result of the battle. UFC star Conor McGregor said he paid a total of $1 million for a fight scheduled for this weekend.

One of McGregor's bets was that Tyson would beat Paul. He also placed a bet on Saturday's UFC 309 bout between Jon “Bones” Jones and Stipe Miocic.

After Friday's fight, Paul was asked about the possibility of facing McGregor in the future. “Yeah, but he would never do that,” Paul said, and manager Nakisa Bidalian interjected:
The Tyson vs. Paul match also suffered from buffering issues. Bandwidth issues have raised concerns about whether Netflix will be able to provide reliable streaming of NFL games this Christmas.
