The eSports World Cup (EWC) presents the best competitive gamers around the world. Also, pressure was heightened on Thursday as the record-breaking prize pool was announced.
The eSports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has announced its prize pool of over $70 million. This will mark the most prestigious event in the sport.
The event will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 7th to August 24th.

“Along with the Club Partner Program and commitment to a multi-year publisher agreement, the record-breaking $700,000 prize pool is the privilege of presenting and verifying the purpose of elevating the industry by providing players, clubs, publishers and all other stakeholders with the stability they need for future success.”
“Over $70 million is an incredible life-changing amount, but it's always in line with a long-term vision rather than a short-term impact. It's about not only betting more money, but creating opportunities for everyone at all levels of the ecosystem and strengthening the industry for future generations.”
So far, 25 tournaments have been held in 24 games.

Esports World Cup officials in the game include Apex Legends, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Call of Duty: Warzone, Congestrike 2, Crossfire, Dota 2, EA Sports FC 25, Fatal Wrath: City of Wolves: Free Fire, Honor of Kings, Honor of Lens, Mobile Legend, Van, Pub Gun, Pub Gun Gun, Pub Rocket League, Starcraft II, Street Fighter 6, Team Fight Tactics, Vorant.
There are also 40 clubs who participated in the EWCF Club Partner Program ahead of the Esports World Cup. The Team Falcons won the club championship and $7 million award at their first event last year.
The rest of the prize money will be split into three distribution categories on the road to Game Championship, MVP Awards and EWC. Each Game Championship features a prize pool totaling over $38 million. Over $5 million will be awarded to Road in EWC Qualifiers.
