My ears couldn't believe it when I heard my friend and colleague Calley laugh, laugh and scream at the Politico Health Care Summit this week, adviser to Trueemed co-founder and Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert Kennedy.

Apparently, that room filled with healthcare lobbyists and partisan critics didn't want to hear the truth. The current form of American health policy is an absolute and total failure. The world's largest Department of Health Officers' Services (HHS) is the world's largest bureaucracy, which requires overhaul and must be done quickly.

The backlash carry encountered on Wednesday came just 24 hours after HHS began laying out 10,000 federal employees.

Carry means efforts to reform American healthcare

Shortly after Secretary Kennedy announced the restructuring, former FDA commissioner Dr. Robert Caliph proceeded to his LinkedIn page and stated that “we knew the FDA had ended, as we know.”

I'm grateful that it's over.

Decades of ineffectiveness have allowed our food and chemical companies to inundate food systems with new chemicals without third-party surveillance or necessary safety research.

Decades of outdated regulatory actions have caused American companies to poison us with ingredients that are not used in other countries. These include artificial food dyes associated with childhood hyperactivity and cancer in animal research.

Decades of poor nutritional standards allow infants to prescribe the first ingredient (corn syrup solids) to newborns.

If our health authorities were in work, we would not be the most sickly developed country on the planet. There is no explosion rate of obesity, infertility, or depression. The facts speak more eloquently than boos.

A complete overhaul is required for how regulatory agencies work. You need to replace old thoughts. We need new personnel who are not plagued by conflicts of interest. We need Goldstar science to reach the root cause of why we are in this predicament and how to solve it.

Our government miserably fails to protect human health, and there are countless examples, but now we have a turning point in history that has never been seen before, along with President Donald Trump and Secretary Kennedy's bold vision to reverse chronic illness.

What Carrie said at the summit was not complicated. The people who helped create this crisis are not the ones who are carrying out the reaction. Still, when he pointed out that America has “the sickest children in the developed world,” and in the face of that reality, it was dishonorable, and the room became hostile.

He argued that Secretary Kennedy was doing exactly what Mahamama, like me, especially, asked to label independent experts as offensive, punish dissenting opinions, and remove persistent bureaucrats who have raised the rate of chronic disease and put aside. Otherwise, as Carrie said, “to tell Mahama that votes and voices are not legal.”

People voted for change. Not a minor tweak – due to structural destruction. And that's why Mahama's moms keep getting laughed at. I understand anger. But I understand what is at stake.

If our health authorities were in work, we would not be the most sickly developed country on the planet. There is no explosion rate of obesity, infertility, or depression. The facts speak more eloquently than boos.

The most common obesity in these three southern cities

Let's be clear. This is not the first time reform has made the elite uncomfortable. Calley is the kind of warrior I've never seen before. He does what real reformers do all the time. And he has the army of Mahamama behind him.

I'm one of them. As a longtime food activist and founder of the Food Baby Movement, I have been trying out the exact same health facilities that are now being reformed for over a decade. I spoke directly to the mom of a White House mom who drives this effort. Women who see their children suffer from chronic illness are only lit by the list by the very institutions intended to protect them.

These are not the voices of fringes. They are citizens who demand a return to accountability, transparency and common sense in public health. I'm proud to stand with them.

I traveled around the country with Carrie, making grassroots efforts to correct what the food industry has done to us. We testify in various states that are trying to reform obsolete policies that enable harmful chemicals in our food and make Americans sick.

This moment is not about optics. It's about the outcome – whether American children are healthy in five years. Whether the family feels seen and served by public health agencies. Whether the government has finally begun to prioritize prevention against the benefits of medicines.

Carrie should not apologise for prioritizing American health over bureaucratic ego. He shouldn't retreat because insiders are uncomfortable. He is part of a team that builds a slimmer, more transparent and reputable HHS. And when I tell him the truth, when he gets booed again, I feel he takes the microphone every time.
