James Franklin's Penn State football team is once again under scrutiny after falling short of its top rivals.
The Nittany Lions entered Saturday's game against Ohio State as the No. 3 team in the nation.
However, the No. 4 Buckeyes left Beaver Stadium with a 20-13 victory. Franklin is in his 11th season as Penn State's head coach, but the team has lost eight straight to Ohio State.
Since beating the Buckeyes in 2016, Franklin's teams have defeated just two opponents ranked in the top 10.

Penn State's struggles in the red zone compounded the frustration Saturday. In the fourth quarter, the Nittany Lions scored first from the 3-yard line. He didn't get much of an advantage on three consecutive rushing attempts, and his fourth down pass fell incomplete. The turnover on downs gave Ohio State its 12th win in the last 13 meetings.

Penn State was able to get back six points with two field goals on four trips to the red zone. Immediately after the game, FOX Sports college football analyst Brady Quinn criticized the decision-making of Penn State's coaching staff.

Quinn said Nittany Lions tight end Tyler Warren should have been given more minutes during the game.
“That play call was terrible for me,” Quinn said on FOX's postgame show. “Tyler Warren got 88 scrimmage yards in the second half and wasn't targeted once in four plays? He got you in there with 33 yards rushing and you got one touch for him. Don't you have one? I lose myself when I think about the pen.'' Please express your fan for that reason. ”

Warren finished the game with 47 receiving yards. He also completed three rushes and gained 47 yards.
