President Donald Trump hosted top investors on one of his cryptocurrency projects on a luxury golf course in northern Virginia on Thursday, one of which was former NBA star Lamar Odom.
Protesters gathered outside the club to hold signs that they would “stop the corruption of the code” and “not stop the corrupt fools.”
The former host was not exempt from those same protesters, but he was not.

“I'm just going through security and officially trying to step into the Trump Gala. Honestly… I've been fired,” Odom said on the X-Post.
“Think about it. Has Memecoin ever done this? $odom is not just a token, it's on stage at the President's Gala tonight!”
Odom also said, “This is the most authentic soulful experience in the history of code.”
Among those protesting outside the golf club was Sen. Jeff Markley, an Oregon Democrat.
“This is the Crypto Corruption Club,” The Times quotes Merkley as saying. “This is like Mount Everest of corruption.”

Three days before Trump took office on January 20th, he announced the creation of the $Trump Meme Coin, explaining it as a way for supporters to “enjoy.”
Trump meme coin saw the first value spike, followed by a sudden drop. According to the Associated Press, creators, including entities managed by the Trump organization, make hundreds of millions of dollars by collecting fees for transactions.
Critics raised concerns that the president's ties with cryptocurrency ventures could open the door to conflicts of interest and affect peddlers.

Odom played 14 seasons in the NBA, 12 of which he played alongside the Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers. He won back-to-back titles with the Lakers in 2009 and 2010, and was named the NBA's sixth man of the year in the 2010-11 campaign.
