The New York Giants knew exactly what they were letting go of this offseason.
Saquon Barkley, now a Philadelphia Eagle, rushed for 176 yards against his former team last weekend. This was the second best performance of his entire career.
The Giants seemed pretty adamant they didn't overpay the running back, but Victor Cruz said the Giants “must regret” making the move.

“I think Sunday, that was a great example of a player who can win games on his own,” Cruz said in a recent interview with Fox News Digital.
Barkley said he doesn't consider this a revenge game because it was against the team he spent his first six seasons in the NFL with before signing with a former NFC East rival.
Cruise is calling BS.
“The way I know Saquon, he played for the Giants for the first time and really showed them what type of player he is, what type of athlete he is and what we're missing. I'm sure they were munching on it,” Cruz said.
But there was one aspect of Barkley that Cruz said the Giants might miss the most.

Head coach Nick Sirianni approached Barkley on the bench late in the game and told him he was 14 yards away from breaking his career high and that it was up to him whether he stayed or not.
Barkley refused, telling the coach, “Feed the young players.”
“That's exactly the type of guy that was in our locker room, the type of guy that led our franchise for years. The Eagles are lucky to have a guy like that on our roster, not just as a player. You'll be lucky.'' But who is he as a person in that room representing the team? ”
Giants owner John Mara said he would have a hard time sleeping if Barkley, the player the team acquired from Penn State with the No. 2 overall pick in 2018, goes to the Eagles.

When you look at what Barkley produced in this game, it's easy to see why he took that thought process.
