In his first interview since announcing his bid for the Alaska governor, former Alaska radio host and longtime conservative Bernadette Wilson, worked with the Trump administration on energy development, to talk to Fox News Digital about the issues of racing.
Born on the Kenai Peninsula and raised in Anchorage, Wilson of Alaska is a political outsider. Still, politics runs with her family. Her gratuncle Wally Hickel served as governor, first serving as a Republican in the 1960s and again as a member of the Alaska Independence Party in the early 1990s.
She noted that it comes from a long-term businessman, including his grandfather who “built a good chunk” of the state's biggest city.
“I own a garbage company myself…and we are celebrating our ninth year in business,” she said. She added that her entrepreneurial experience and knowledge of national politics is a good mix throughout her family history and her career in radio and activities.
Ranked Choice Voting Ranks Election Seasons

Wilson opposes voting for options where votes are tallied in a hierarchical way throughout several rounds. Conservatives in Red State have denounced the election of former Democrat Mary Pertola for the election. Incumbent Governor Mike Dunleavy is subject to a limited period.
“Voters with ranked optional voters. We see that it's … so confused them. We see people who don't understand the process, and it has to go for it. It's mission critical,” she said.
In other states, ranked choice votes had mixed reviews. In Virginia, right supporters believed that political parties helped select businessman Glen Youngkin as the governor's candidate in 2021.
Alaska can cure the country's illness with the help of Trump's administrators: Governor says
Energy is Alaska's most important economic topic, and Wilson said she looks forward to working with the Trump administration on stated plans for the domestic energy renaissance if she is elected.
“Energy is clearly huge for Alaska. Under the Biden administration, Alaska has been approved more than Iranian countries,” she said.
“We have the ability to lead the rest of the country (in this field).”
Asked about another Trump-related topic, she asked about the claim that the ongoing efforts with Canada would turn it into bipartisan outrage at U.S. tariffs in State 51 and Ottawa, Wilson, as governor, would like to work on a cross-border infrastructure project.

“Obviously, Canada, sitting along the border to Alaska, has a huge impact on us, so getting a railroad through Canada is definitely a top priority when it comes to interactions with that particular country,” she said.
