Former President Donald Trump is leading Vice President Kamala Harris in three key battleground states, according to a New York Times poll released Monday.
Trump leads Harris by five points in Arizona, 50% to 45%, and in Georgia, 49% to 45%, but Harris is closing in on the former president in North Carolina, 49% to 47%.
The Times conducted the poll from Sept. 17-21, surveying 2,077 voters across the three states.
Arizona and Georgia would be big wins for Trump in the general election because they are states won by President Biden in 2020. Arizona in particular represents a major surge in support for Trump, with Harris leading by five points in an August Times poll.
The Times survey came days after a Fox News national poll showed Harris leading Trump by two points, 50% to 48%, in the White House.
A new national poll from Fox News has found a 3 percentage point change in registered 2024 presidential voters since mid-August. Trump had a 1-point lead in August. Read more
