Georgia claimed a spot in the College Football Playoff with a 31-17 win over Tennessee on Saturday, but Kirby Smart had a message for the committee.
In the latest rankings, Georgia is ranked No. 12, making it the first team on the outside in the bracket. The Bulldogs moved up in the rankings after last week's loss to Ole Miss. Tennessee enters Saturday's matchup as the seventh-ranked team and will advance to the playoffs.

That could change with Georgia's big win.
“I don't know what they're looking for. I really don't know,” Smart said of the selection committee, via ESPN. “I wish they could really define the standards. I wish they could come in here and look at the people we're playing against and do an eyeball test to look at them.”
“I don't know what they want because you don't see that on TV. But that's for someone else to decide. I'm worried about the team.”

ESPN noted that CFP selection committee chairman Warde Manuel, who is also the University of Michigan's athletic director, cited the Bulldogs' turnovers and poor offensive performance as the reason they fell from third to 12th.
Georgia gained 453 total yards and no turnovers Saturday at home.
“They're not in that environment,” Smart said of CFP officials. “They're fired up because they're not in an Ole Miss environment and they're playing a top-five defense in the country with one of the best pass rushers in the country. They're up by two points and they They don’t understand that.”

Georgia State is 8-2 this season, with Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Georgia Tech remaining this year. A third loss will definitely end their hopes of advancing to the final spot.
