Wyndham Clark had a disappointing final round at last weekend's PGA Championship.
The 2023 US Open winner responded to a poor tee shot on Sunday, dangerously launching the driver onto a sign near the tee box. Clark had just bogeyed before hitting a tee shot to the right of the 16th hole.
Clark didn't wait for the shot to land before throwing the club hard.

The driver left a noticeable hole in the sign. The driver was also damaged, causing the club's head to collapse. Clark responded by throwing a piece of the broken club to the side, eventually leaving both parts of both drivers behind as he walked towards the bunker golf ball.

On Monday, Clark said he “was not required to take action” and vowed to improve.
“I would like to sincerely apologize for my actions at Hall 16 yesterday,” Clark said in a post to X.

Clark also admitted that he was “lacked” of the “high standards” he holds himself.
“I'm always on the high standards of trying to play for something bigger than me. Yesterday I didn't meet those standards, so I'm really sorry for that.
