House Republicans are celebrating Medicaid reform with one big beautiful bill law. The GOP says it eliminates waste, fraud and abuse for the Americans who need the most compensation.
Meanwhile, since President Donald Trump was elected in November, Democrats have let go of the possibility of Medicaid cuts. Now that his “big, beautiful bill” has been passed in the House, Democrats have defined Medicaid cuts as driving issues ahead of the 2026 competitive midterm elections.
Republicans say there is more in the story.
“The Big Beautifulville places Americans first. We have borders. We have protected our profits for the most vulnerable people. We are investing in American manufacturing. We are investing in our own energy production.
“The Democrats have focused on this particular line of attack, with 13.7 million Americans losing health care. That's blatantly wrong.”

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO), a nonpartisan analysis of the US Congress, estimates that 8.6 million people in the US will lose health insurance through Medicaid reforms in one Big Beautiful Vill Act by 2034.
“Five million of these people have received tax credits under the Affordable Care Act passed by Democrats on the Sunset date, and we simply allow the Sunset date to expire as Democrats originally intended,” Huchin said.

The CBO estimates that 13.7 million Americans will lose compensation by 2034. Many Democrats have already rolled out what has passed in the House of Representatives in a campaign message rejecting Trump's “big beautiful bill.”
“The CBO scores, neither should either the American people, because it has proven to be fiercely apart over and over,” added Houchin, who served on three major committees leading budget markup, including the House Rules, Budget, Energy and Commerce Committee.
The American Accountability Foundation, a conservative government research nonprofit, found out that of the 32 staff in the CBO's health analysis division, 26 have “clearly” tested as Democrat donors, registered Democrats, or leading Democrat voters.

Houchin said one big beautiful bill law does not cut Medicaid for the most vulnerable. Instead, she says targeting waste, fraud and abuse in the Medicaid program will cut benefits to illegal immigrants, those who are currently receiving benefits, those who are enrolled in one or more states, and those who are successful but have chosen not to work.
“If we have to think about the four things we are doing to enhance it in Medicaid, we are guaranteed that we have very modest work requirements for the growing population, removing illegal, ineligible, or replicating people.
Republicans say they are cleaning the program so that their working families and the most vulnerable Americans can rely on it for future generations.

“What we're trying to do is protect our valuable Medicaid dollars for those who need it most,” Huchin said. “That's what we're doing. No one in the traditional Medicaid population needs to worry about, and even if you're in a capable, expanding population, there are many opportunities to follow to join Medicaid.”
However, Democrats have already designated Medicaid cuts as a critical issue in 2026.
“The huge tax fraud of House Republicans will drive millions of people out of health insurance,” Viet Shelton, a spokesman for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), told Fox News Digital. “That's true. Independent analysts say it. Healthcare experts say it. Hell, even Republican senators say it. On the other hand, anything is just trying to protect the majority they're already at risk.”
After weeks of negotiations through budget settlements, House Republicans finally reached a consensus, passing one big beautiful bill law last week. The bill passed just 215-214, with all Democrats voting against it. The slim Republican majority could bring legislative victory for Trump.

But the “big and beautiful” fight isn't over as the Senate is tasked with drafting its own version of the bill. Senate Republicans have shown they do not support the bill in their current form.
“I don't want to see rural hospitals shut their doors because of the funds being cut, and I don't like the hidden tax idea for the poor workers. So I'm no in the current form of this house bill,” R-Mo said.
The massive few dollar law advances Trump's agenda on taxes, immigration, energy, defense and government bonds. The bill includes key campaign promises from Trump, including tips and no tax on overtime, and is attempting to permanently extend the 2017 Tax Cuts and Employment Act.
“By passing the biggest cuts in history to Medicaid, Republicans are tearing health care from millions of Americans and collecting de facto hidden taxes on working-class families,” DCCC Chairman Suzan Delvene said in a statement after the bill was passed. “Now, this betrayal of the American people will sacrifice their work in the medium term and Republicans as vulnerable Republicans vote for it.

Democrats are targeting vulnerable Republicans to support Medicaid reform in Trump's “big beautiful bill,” but Republicans are aiming to become Democrats to oppose the bill's tax cuts.
“Hospital Democrats voted for the biggest tax hike of a generation, while giving illegal immigrants taxpayer-funded giveaways. The NRCC ensures that voters do not forget how to betray working families,” said Mike Marinella, a spokesman for the National Republican Campaign Committee (NRCC), in a statement from Fox News Digital Digital Digital.
When House members return to their home state and communicate with constituents during their congressional break, the NRCC encourages House Republicans to go to the crime of Medicaid reform.

“We encourage everything in the Caucus, who are members of the conference, and we continue to communicate with local and national media over and over again what we know about this big and beautiful bill,” Huchin said.
“It puts Americans first and ensures that these programs exist for the next generation because we are not wasting valuable benefits to people who may be taxes, illegal, ineligible, registered in multiple states, or capable.
