Supreme Court Judge Sonia Sotomayor observed, “We apply law to facts, we do not apply emotions to facts.”
American judges should be aware of Sotomayor's wise lawyers. Some say that judges do not create tyranny from the bench where they hold the law by empting their “feeling” in favor of “feeling.” In doing so, they are violating the trust of the people. It's a dangerous choice.
Recently, two state court jurists have allowed their “feeling” to overturn their better judgment. By anointing sanctuary judges and actively protecting illegal immigrants, they were put in legal danger as accessories.

Their subsequent arrests tend to prove Sotomayor's point.

The judge was arrested and charged
In Wisconsin, Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested for escaping illegal alien from her court as federal agents arrived and federal agents arrived to be detained on a deportation warrant. The criminal charges and affidavit stated that after Dugan “visibly angry” said he would escort the defendant from her court to a closed back door to avoid an arrest.
On his way out, the defendant, who was facing domestic abuse charges in Dugan's courtroom, “sprinted down the street.” Foot pursuits continued, putting citizens and law enforcement at risk of harm. He was arrested without any injuries. A few days later, Dugan was arrested on court grounds and charged with federal obstruction and concealment (18 USC 1505 and 1071). The conviction is sentenced to a maximum sentence of six years behind bars.
In another case, New Mexico judge Jose Luis Cano and his wife were arrested after authorities determined they had hugged an illegal immigrant in their home who was suspected of having ties with the infamous Tren Aragua Transnational Gang, a foreign terrorist organization designed in the United States. Kano and his family are said to have given the man access to the gun with a restraining device. He was taken into custody.
Meanwhile, Kano resigned from his office, and the state Supreme Court permanently banned him from serving on the bench. But that is the least of his concerns. The criminal charges say Kano confessed to destroying evidence of the crime. He is accused of tampering with federal evidence, and his wife faces a conspiracy crime (18 USC 1519 and 371). If convicted, the maximum sentence is 20 years in prison.
Democrats are furious
Many Democrats have expressed predictable anger and condemnation of the clues by suggesting that judges are beyond the law. Two left-wing US senators in Minnesota have coincided with the arrest being Trump-inspired revenge that destroys the rule of law. Exactly, they didn't say it.
In fact, the charges against Dugan and Kano constitute a responsible effort by federal authorities in favour of the rule of law regardless of their status. Of course, they are presumed innocent and get a day in court to challenge the charges. However, judges do not have any particular immunity. Otherwise, people who believe that their lofty position will deceive themselves to think that they are somehow exempt or insulated them. It was a false belief, and I was teased by hope from rog haughtiness.
Like all others, judges must comply with the requirements of the law that they have pledged to uphold their actions. When they do not do so, they can and must be prosecuted. That's not unprecedented.
In a surprisingly similar case seven years ago, Massachusetts Judge Shelley Joseph was charged by federal prosecutors with helping illegal immigrants sneak out of her court to avoid arrest and deportation. Joseph later signed a contract with the prosecutor set up by Biden to withdraw all charges in exchange for judicial disciplinary proceedings.

Regardless of fact or evidence, it's not just progressive left-wing politicians who are furious about recent judicial arrests. At least one Wisconsin judge was caught up in the fight as a self-appointed face of resistance.
A fellow Wisconsin judge, Monica Isam, decided to develop her own personal and professional protests against Dugan's arrest by announcing that she would refuse to do the job. She also informed other jurists in the state that she would take on a boycott by closing the court due to lack of “guidance” and “support.”
She wrote in an email, “I am not going to allow anyone by the ice to be taken from my court and sent to concentration camps.”
Overlooking the incited and absurd use of the term “concentration camp,” Isamu has not realized that there is nothing illegal about law enforcement officials making arrests within the court. It happens all the time. However, she appears to have been “provoked” by recent events and lamenting “I feel no longer emphasized or respected as a judge.”
Two left-wing US senators in Minnesota have coincided with the arrest being Trump-inspired revenge that destroys the rule of law. Exactly, they didn't say it.
The nasty words can be “feeling” once again, as if the judge's gentle feelings had nothing to do with the fidelity of the law. I would encourage Isham to consult with Justice Sotomayor to discuss the very guidance she requests.
Sanctuary Jurisdiction
“The sanctuary jurisdiction where criminal aliens put American communities at risk,” Assistant Attorney General Todd Blanche said. “This Department of Justice will not hold back as local officials are putting politics in public safety,” he added.
Blanche made these appropriate remarks as federal prosecutors brought charges against Justice Dugan and Cano. It was the same argument and warning issued quite some time ago by Louis Brandeis, one of our most prominent and progressive Supreme Court justice:
“Our government teaches the whole people by example. When government becomes a law violator, it creates light empt against the law. It invites everyone to become the law.
Chaos continues if their own actions make a judge aware of disregarding the law or infringing it with immunity. John Locke pointed out as law begins to despot.
That's exactly what's going on. The sanctuary policy without laws inevitably encourages judges to waive legal obligations and participate in liberal causes. In many cases, they cite local ordinances or state laws protecting illegal immigration to justify the situation in the sanctuary. Conveniently, they ignore the established principle that federal law has precedents under Section 2, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution.

Decades ago, Congress passed laws to support illegal immigrants and combat those suffering from them. Lawmakers committed crimes that could be punished in prisons for up to five years in order to illegally “protect anyone in the United States from concealment, port or discovery” (8 USC 1324). It is also a felony of conspiracy to “suspend, obstruct or obstruct” federal officers in the performance of their duties (8 USC 372). As mentioned above, obstruction and concealment are additional crimes.
The Illegal Immigration Reform Act of 1996 requires states and local governments to cooperate with federal authorities on immigration requests (8 USC 1373). That same law allows the president to withhold federal financial support from cities and prevents the law by ignoring the demands of detainees. This includes not respecting the unpaid deportation order.
She wrote in an email, “I am not going to allow anyone by the ice to be taken from my court and sent to concentration camps.”
Democrats have spent the past four years claiming that “no one has surpassed the law.” No one was furious at the indictment and arrest of then-President Former Donald Trump. Certainly, they cheered on his prosecutor.
But they are now folded against the charges brought against two lawyers accused of violating the law. Apparently, the president doesn't go beyond the law, but the judges do.

Rank hypocrisy is self-evident. Democrats selectively apply “feeling” to facts instead of the law.
