Vice President Kamala Harris has kept a low profile since losing to President-elect Trump, and has been vacationing in Hawaii with second gentleman Doug Emhoff since last week.
Harris arrived in Kalaoa, Hawaii, on Tuesday for a week-long trip. This was to take a break from the rigorous campaign schedule she has kept for the past few months, and also to take a break from her duties as vice president, where she holds the tiebreaker. He voted as president of the Senate during the final months of President Biden's administration.
The timing of the vice president's visit has raised questions, with some saying many DNC staffers are worried about their futures and others are surprised by the sudden firing.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre defended Harris' leave at a briefing Thursday, insisting there was “no problem” with the vice president taking the day off.
“The vice president took time off to spend time with her family. I don't see anything wrong with that. I think she deserves time with her family and a vacation. “She has worked hard.” “For the past four years, she has spent a few days with her family, which has been good for her,” Jean-Pierre said.

Meanwhile, a senior Harris aide told NBC News that the vice president has already postponed her trip in case she is needed in the Senate, but that the bulk of the votes are now for Harris to return to Washington. He said it is scheduled to be held in May.
The Harris campaign and the White House did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's requests for comment.
