Vice President Kamala Harris joined CNN in Pennsylvania on Wednesday to double down on her comments comparing former President Donald Trump to Nazi German dictator Adolf Hitler during a town hall meeting for undecided voters.
“If the commander-in-chief, the president of the United States, is essentially saying to his generals, “Why can't you be like Hitler's generals?'' Anderson, come on, this is a serious, serious problem, and We know he admires dictators and has exchanged love letters with Kim Jong Un,” Harris said of Trump during a town hall he hosted on Wednesday night. CNN's Anderson Cooper.
Earlier Wednesday, former Trump administration chief of staff John Kelly claimed to the media that Trump praised the loyalty of “Hitler's generals.” Harris compared Trump to a Nazi dictator after posting on X that Trump “seeks unchecked power.”
“Donald Trump is out for unchecked power. He wants an Adolf Hitler-like army loyal to him, not the Constitution,” Harris posted on X earlier Wednesday. “He's vacillating, he's unstable, and even if he were given a second term, no one would stop him from pursuing his worst impulses.”

Cooper pressed Harris on her rhetoric Wednesday night in her first question for the Democratic nominee, and Harris doubled down, saying she believed Trump was a “fascist.”
“You quoted General Milley calling Donald Trump a fascist. You yourself have never used that word to describe him. Let me hear it tonight: Donald Trump is a fascist. Do you think so?'' Cooper asked Harris to begin the town hall.
“Yes, that's right. That's right,” Harris replied.
Harris' comments came after President Trump survived two assassination attempts since July. President Trump blamed the attack on Democratic rhetoric.

“Given that you have held the position of vice president under the Biden administration for the past four years, how can we expect you to deviate from the direction of that administration compared to the direction of the Biden administration? ?How can you differentiate your policies and beliefs from Biden's?'' an audience member asked Harris.
Harris, who has previously said on the campaign trail that she could not think of anything she would do differently than Biden, said Wednesday that her administration is different from Biden's leadership.
Harris vs. Trump: New national poll reveals who's ahead two weeks after Election Day
“First of all, my administration is not a continuation of the Biden administration. I bring my own thoughts and experience to this role. I represent a new generation of leadership on many issues; I actually believe we have to 'take a new approach,''' Harris said.
“For example, what we talked about when it comes to housing. Some of my experiences that lead to that priority include what I did to stand up to the big banks during the foreclosure crisis. I know what homeownership means to Americans, and I know what it means to my mother. Needless to say, my mother worked hard and saved enough money to buy her first home by the time I was a teenager.

The event at City Hall began Wednesday at 9 p.m. in Chester Township, located less than 32 miles outside Philadelphia. The event comes after CNN proposed holding a third presidential debate on October 23, including the first before Biden withdrew from the race. Harris accepted the invitation, but Trump declined and the meeting was held at City Hall.
Harris stumbles at border when pressed about illegal immigration: 'Are border walls stupid?'
Harris has also come under pressure on border and immigration policies, including a bipartisan bill to fund construction of a border wall, an idea she called “stupid” when she promoted it during the Trump administration. He vehemently criticized it.
“Let's talk about this compromise that you want to pass if you're elected. You said that would be a priority. It includes $650 million in funding for border wall construction. That's what Republicans wanted and was part of the compromise.'' Donald Trump, you have criticized the wall over 50 times as a “stupid, useless, medieval vanity project.'' “Is a border wall stupid?” Cooper asked Harris.
“Let's talk about Donald Trump and the border wall,” Harris said with a laugh. “Remember, Donald Trump said Mexico would pay for it. Look, they didn't. How much of that wall did he build? Last I saw I think the number was about 2%. And when it was his turn to do a photo shoot, he did it on the part of the wall that President Obama had built? ”

“But you agreed to a bill that would appropriate $650 million to continue building that wall,” Cooper pressed.
“I pledge to introduce bipartisan legislation to further strengthen and secure our borders. Yes, I am. I am committed to passing comprehensive legislation to address our broken immigration system. “I'm going to work across the board,” Harris replied.
“We need a president who is based on common sense and practical consequences. 'Let's fix this problem, let's just fix it, why have an ideological perspective on this? Just fix the problem. ' Let's do it,' she continued, adding: -Citizens need to 'earn' citizenship.
“So you don't feel stupid anymore?” Cooper continued.
“I don't think it meant much what he did or how he did it because he didn't really do anything. I just talked about that wall, right? He didn't really do anything, “almost anything,'' she replied.
Georgia woman's lawyer holds hospital responsible for delaying emergency abortion
Pennsylvania is a key state in this election, with both Harris and Trump vying to win the state, paving the way to an overall victory. Trump narrowly won the state over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, but Biden declared victory in the Keystone State in the 2020 election.
Harris leaned pro-abortion at the town hall, arguing that abortion policies in red states were leading to women's deaths. The Harris campaign and Democrats have previously claimed that at least two women died in Georgia due to “restrictive” abortion laws, and obstetricians and gynecologists have since said the report was a misinformation pushed by the media. They criticized the story as inviting.
Jimmy Kimmel 'not mentally prepared' for Kamala Harris potentially losing election
“President Trump has banned abortions, with some exceptions even for cases of rape and incest. One of my areas of expertise as a prosecutor was It was a crime. The idea of telling survivors of bodily violations that they are doing this is that they don't have the right to decide what happens to their bodies next. “This is happening in our country. You've heard stories of women dying because of this law and suffering,” Harris said.

Last month, Harris called for an end to the filibuster in an effort to pass legislation restoring access to abortion nationwide, a move condemned by lawmakers and conservatives as an attack on democracy. Repealing the filibuster, a Senate rule that allows the minority to block legislation until there is a supermajority vote, would make it easier to pass laws related to abortion rights.
Cooper pressed Harris on the issue Wednesday, saying, “You're talking about codifying Roe v. Wade. That would require 60 votes in the Senate and a majority in the House. This is a big “That's a huge leap forward. We don't have that right yet.” If it is still not possible to codify it in the House of Commons, then what? ”
Harris responded that it was time to reconsider the filibuster.
“Honestly, I think we need to look at the filibuster. But the reality is this. Let me tell you how we got here. When Donald Trump was president, he had three members of the United States “The state Supreme Court's hand-picked intent was to rescind the protections of Roe v. Wade,” she said. “And they did what he intended, and now abortion is banned in 20 states.”
