Vice President Harris continues to hold a narrow lead over former President Donald Trump, according to a new poll, even as Trump widens his lead on the issues that matter most to voters.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted Tuesday showed Harris leading Trump nationally by a narrow margin of 45% to 42%, within the margin of error. Meanwhile, Trump's approval rating for the economy remains at 45%, compared to 40% for Harris. A previous Reuters poll conducted in late November showed Trump with just a 3-point lead on the issue.
However, Harris maintains a commanding lead in health care, with a 14-point lead over Trump. They also maintain a lead on countering political extremism and protecting democracy, 43% to 38%.
The Reuters poll surveyed 938 American adults online, including 807 registered voters. Of these, 769 people were considered most likely to vote on Election Day. Voting ended on Sunday.
