Former President Joe Biden joked in an October 2023 interview with special adviser with Robert Huar that he was the “young man” about his misconceptions of the newly released audio show.
Axios released the audio from an interview with Biden's Hur on Friday. When this son, Beau died, took office as vice president, when President Donald Trump was elected for his first term, or he seemed to struggle to remember why he classified documents that he should not own.
In addition to Biden's memory lapsed, the recording showed him slurping his words and muttering as he spoke to Har.

The transcripts for the interviews conducted on October 8th and 9th, 2023 were released on March 12th, 2024.
On the first day of the interview, Har stressed the importance of answering the truth and urged Biden to make his best efforts to remember the events in question. Prosecutors admitted that it happened many years ago.
“I'm young, so that's not a problem,” replied jokingly the 82-year-old Biden.
“Okay, great. I'm happy to hear that,” replied Har.

Hear, who was appointed by then General Merrick Garland to investigate Biden's handling of confidential documents, said in a report released on February 5, 2024 that he refused to file charges against the president. The report acknowledged that the document was obtained by Biden “intentionally” between him as a vice president and the senator.
“I'm well-intentioned, I'm an older man and I know what I'm doing. I'm the president and I've recovered from this country. I don't need his recommendation,” Biden said when asked questions after Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doucy released his report.
The special advisor's report amplified pressure from Republicans who said Biden's gaffeous public appearances as well as lacking the mental fitness needed to serve as president.

Democrats and the Biden White House initially criticized Hart for his report, claiming that the then-president was “sharp” and that the special advisor was politically motivated.
Later in 2024, during Biden's reelection campaign, Democrats cited his age and mental vision to urge him to drop out of the race around his performance in the June presidential debate against Trump. Biden officially dropped out of the presidential election in July and ended his term. His vice president, Kamala Harris, lost to Trump in the November general election.
