Is something wrong?
Natalia Gracemans was recruited from Ukraine by an American family in 2010. By 2011, they had insisted in the court that, as they were told, did not believe that a person is a child, and instead were adult women with dwarfism. Perhaps due to its similarity to the plot of the 2009 horror film The Orphan, the story went viral and became the topic of a podcast, news article, and a documentary series entitled “The Curious Case of Natalia Grace.” The fictional version of “Good American Family” is currently being released this week. The show stars Ellen Pompeo and Mark Duplas as adopted parents, and stars Imogen Faith and Lead as Natalia. Streaming on Hulu on Wednesday.
What will the new mystery drama “Residence” be like if a murder occurs at a White House state dinner? The series stars Uzo Adva as Cordelia Cup. Cordelia Cup is a detective from a metropolitan police station who was brought in to question those around him when the crime occurred. And of course, through all this, interpersonal conflicts arise, people begin to act suspiciously, and secrets become revealed. Streaming on Netflix on Thursday.
In the 1990s, there was a series of murders around the United States when the incident began to attract media attention. Killer, Keith Hunter Jessperson, detailed the details of his crime in newspapers and police stations, signed with a smile on his face, and gave the Monica a “Happy Face Killer.” He currently carries four consecutive life sentences. In the new series, Happy Face, Dennis Quaid assumes the role of Jess Person in this fictional narration of a horrifying true story. Streaming on Paramount+ on Thursday.
Celebrate the music.
This week, music will be celebrated at the Iheart Radio Music Awards. And while Taylor Swift finished on her ERAS tour, she continues to maintain her heart at the top. The show will be held on the second anniversary of the tour's start, so the show will feature performances filmed from that first night. Lady Gaga and Mariah Carey will be honored and will be hosted by LL Cool J. 8pm on Monday at Fox.
In 1925, George D. Hay began the country radio broadcast WSM Burn Dance, renamed Grand Ole Opry in 1927. It's the longest radio show, a platform celebrating both longtime stars and newcomers in the genre. To celebrate the 100th anniversary, Blake Shelton has hosted the “Opry 100” with performances and appearances from Reba McEntire, Post Malone, Alan Jackson and others. Streaming on Peacock on NBC at 8pm Wednesday.
Let me eat the cake.
The first season of the show “Marie Antoinette” was when she moved to Versailles after a newlywed played by Emilia Surre, and began to turn herself in her new life. In the second season, which premieres this week, Antoinette and Louis XVI (Louis Cunningham) face economic struggles, constant criticism and the infamous diamond necklace incident. Sunday at 10pm on PBS (check local listings).
The Oscar winners come to stream.
This month, the indie film “Anola” won five Academy Awards, including Best Photography, Best Director and Best Actress. The story follows Anni (Mikey Madison), a sex worker who impulsively marries Ivan (Mark Edelstein), the son of a wealthy family from Russia. As you can imagine, things are not happy at all. If you don't catch a movie in theatre or want to relive the stressful Junts of characters around Brighton Beach, now is the time. Streaming on Hulu on Monday.
If my neighbors are already tired of blowing away “gravity reversed” things are about to get much worse for them: “Wicked,” starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Eribo, will be available to stream this week. The film took home two Oscars last month and won T-Minus, about nine months away from Part 2, so it makes sense to start rewatching. Streaming on Peacock on Friday.
