sexy!
First came #momtok, then came the reality series “The Secret Life of a Mormon Wife,” following a group of famous moms from Tiktok who are practicing Mormons or in the community. The first season was a hit, becoming Hulu's top-watched non-script series in 2024. Now Utah women are ready for a more dirty soda, baby dad drama and rehashing of swing scandals. The cast will be joined by Miranda McWater, who was involved in the original Tiktoku drama that popularized the group. With Taylor Frankie Paul, Jen Affleck, Demi Engemann and others back, they add coconut creamer to Dr. Pepper, read Mormon books and pour coffee into the drain. Streaming on Hulu on Thursday.
Why are there Chad Michael Murray and Scott Patterson in Nova Scotia, Canada? Of course, because “Sullivan's Crossing” is back in the third season. The series follows neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Cohan), who flees to a small town where his father, Sally (Patterson) lives to escape from work-related scandals. Now, three years later, Maggie and Cal (Murray) are officially items, with the trio dealing with the aftermath of the diner fire from the Season 2 Cliffhanger. It's likely to be Canada's cottage season. This show perfectly sets those atmospheres. On Wednesday at 8pm at CW.
The Ryan Murphy series, “Dr. Odyssey,” left viewers with many questions. Was it all a fever dream? Why is this cruise ship equipped with a CT machine? How can I clone Joshua Jackson in real life? It is unclear whether any of these questions will be answered in this week's finale. The show follows two nurses in charge of the cruise ship clinic where they spend more time in the hot tub than they do real work. The season (or during the series, ABC has not yet renewed the show) finale, Max (Jackson) destroys the ship, and, needless to say, some natural disasters attack. Stream on ABC at 9pm on Thursdays and on Hulu the next day.
thrilling!
Set up a scene from the new thriller series, “Duster.” This year was 1972. We're southwest, Rachel Hilson plays the FBI's first black female agent. With Josh Holloway's character on her side as the escape driver, the two are on their mission to disband the growing crime syndicate. Notably, this is the first JJ Abrams co-written gig in six years since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. 9pm on Thursdays.
A robot that is not interested in human contact and prefers to spend time watching melodramas? It's not that unrelated. That's the general plot of the new show “Murderbot,” based on the “Murderbot Diaries” book series by Martha Wells. Alexander Skarsgard plays a Secunit (Security Android) robot, who must accompany a group of astronauts into space as they explore the alien world. This week, the first two of the 10 episodes will debut, followed by a new episode dropping every Friday. Streaming on AppletV+ on Friday.
interesting!
Benito Skinner began playing Skits on social media, but now he's taking his actions on TV in the new series “Overcompensation.” He stars as Benny, a former high school football player who is in closet and makes quick friends with Carmen (Wally Baram) upon arrival at college. From there, the usual shenanigans follow. Drink flavoured vodka, use fake IDs, and, of course, engage in suspicious hookups. Streaming on Prime Video on Thursday.
Joan Rivers was the heroine of comedy. She appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show in the 1960s and became a frequent flyer for Johnny Carson's “Tonight's Show.” In a particular generation, she was probably most notable for her role as an entertainment correspondent and hosting the “fashion police” that delivered endless ginger. She passed away in September 2014 after minor procedures led to cardiac arrest. She left a letter to her daughter, Melissa Rivers. That's exactly what happens in “Joan Rivers: A Dead Funny All-Star Compliment.” They performed musical bits and stand-ups featuring some classic river wise con artists during tapings at the Apollo Theatre in New York City, including Rachel Brosnahan, Aubrey Plaza, Nikki Glazer and Tiffany Haddish. 10pm on NBC on Tuesdays.
